Full-Stack Software Engineer

OpenRelay (YC S26)
Posted 4 hours ago
🇦🇷Argentina🏠Remote📁Engineering & Development
Is this job info correct?
Why OpenRelay?

OpenRelay is GPU compute and LLM inference for people who ship. Customers rent GPU machines and call inference APIs; providers plug their hardware into our network and get paid for it. We run a distributed fleet on real hardware, not a reseller skin over someone else's cloud. Small team, high bar, and room for A-players to own things that are live in production.

No Degree Required, Show Us What You've Built

We care about what you can do, not diplomas. The profile we want most is simple: you built something on the web, and then you got strangers to use it. That last part is everything. Plenty of engineers can ship a site. Figuring out how people actually find it, ranking for a query that matters, writing cold email that gets replies, launching somewhere and converting the traffic, is the rarest and most valuable skill you can bring us. Show us what you built and the users you got on it: real traffic, real signups, real revenue.

Core Tech

- Next.js + React (TypeScript), Tailwind
- tRPC, Node.js
- Go (control plane, gateways, CLI)
- DynamoDB, Redis
- AWS (ECS Fargate, Terraform), Docker, Linux
- PostHog, Vercel
- Claude Code and agentic tooling, daily

What You'll Build

You'll own features end-to-end in one of three tracks (but at a startup, you'll touch all of them).

Fullstack Engineering

- Own and ship production features across the OpenRelay platform: the customer dashboard, the marketing site, the docs, and the internal ops portal
- Work across the frontend, API, and data layers in a pnpm monorepo, React and TypeScript on top of Go services
- Design and maintain APIs, background jobs, and workflows that customers depend on to launch and run GPU workloads
- Use agentic engineering tools (Claude Code, autonomous loops) to build the machine that builds the machine: configure the repo, CI, and workflows so features can be built, tested, and shipped autonomously

Platform and Infrastructure Engineering

- Work on the Go control plane that schedules customer workloads onto a distributed fleet of provider machines
- Build against the systems that keep it honest: scheduling, health reconciliation, metering, and billing
- Touch the real infrastructure layer: AWS, Terraform, Docker, Linux, networking, and GPU hosts

Growth Engineering

- Own programmatic SEO: generate and optimize pages targeting high-intent GPU, inference, and model queries
- Build automated outreach and SDR systems with agentic tooling
- Design and maintain automation workflows for scalable content production
- Run A/B tests and conversion rate optimization experiments with PostHog
- Build and test landing pages, and kill the ones that do not work

You'll own features from design through deployment and be expected to ship, test, and maintain production code.

Skills and Qualifications

- 2+ years working with TypeScript / React / Node.js (professional or serious personal projects)
- Advanced Linux and command line, you are comfortable living in a terminal
- Comfortable with databases and caching (bonus: DynamoDB, Redis)
- Hands-on with Docker
- Able to ship, test, and own production code end-to-end
- Experience working in or contributing to a real codebase, not just tutorials
- Working English, written and spoken

Nice to have: Go, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, bare metal or GPU infrastructure, networking, CI/CD, technical SEO, cold email at volume, paid acquisition.

Who Should Apply

- Engineers who have built full-scale personal projects that work, with real functionality and real users, not just landing pages
- Engineers who went past the build and drove their own traffic, organic or cold
- Engineers who have contributed meaningful production features at a job, open-source project, or freelance engagement
- People who can't stop exploring the latest in AI and want to build with it daily
- Ambitious engineers ready to work hard, learn fast, and grow with a fast-moving startup

What We Want to See

Show us projects or contributions where you owned real functionality:

- Working software - a deployed app, a production feature, an open-source contribution with merged PRs
- Users you got yourself - the SEO, the outbound, or the launch that brought them, and the numbers it moved
- Production thinking - you've dealt with real users, edge cases, or data at some scale

Examples: a SaaS side project with paying users, a tool that ranks for a query people actually search, an outbound motion you built that booked meetings, an open-source project other people use.

Stand out even more if you've led a project with measurable traction: traffic, GitHub stars, paying users, or revenue generated. We're looking for people who can grow into technical leadership.

Bonus: Show Us in Action

Record a short video to bump your application to the top of the list:

- Length: 5 minutes or less
- Format: Your face on camera and a screen recording that demos your best work, the users you got on it, and the hardest problems you solved
- Language: English
- Casual is fine, content matters more than polish

What to Expect

- Fast-moving U.S. startup building GPU compute and inference infrastructure
- High autonomy, high expectations, fair and human culture
- Direct influence on product decisions
- Fully remote, anywhere in Argentina
- Competitive pay, strong mentorship and growth

How to Apply

Send us:

- Resume or LinkedIn
- GitHub or project links (show us working software, and the users you got on it)
- Brief note on your AI experience or side projects you're proud of
- (Optional but encouraged) the video described above

Join us to build the compute layer that AI runs on.
