Functional Analyst

This position has a term length of 2 years from the date of hire. The Office of the Registrar is actively hiring for multiple Functional Analyst positions. Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton. As a key member of the Office of the Registrar, the Functional Analyst position blends a strong understanding of enrolment and student service processes with expert knowledge of the enrolment systems underpinning those processes. Through effective system configuration, the Functional Analyst ensures the University’s student systems and enrolment related processes run efficiently, accurately, and on time. They also collaborate with team members and subject matter experts from across the University to improve processes and fully utilize the functionality within available systems. Leveraging this unique expertise, the Functional Analyst is pivotal in supporting the entirety of the student journey and improving the student experience at the University of Alberta. Provides expertise and knowledge regarding the University’s enrolment systems; advises business users on system capabilities and makes recommendations regarding system solutions or changes. Participates in system/process improvement projects and initiatives; supports change management strategies to ensure successful implementation of new systems, functionality, and features. Configures enrolment systems and provides operational production support for enrolment and student service related functions (e.g., student recruitment, admissions, class timetabling, registration, tuition/fees, the student record, student financial support, student conduct, convocation, continuing education, etc.). Supports the development of operational reports/queries and informs data requests related to enrolment systems. Related post-secondary degree or diploma. Minimum of two years of related experience working with student administration systems in a post-secondary environment (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions experience is ideal). Demonstrated competence and aptitude for working with technology. A thorough knowledge of University regulations, especially in the areas of registration and enrolment functions. A logical and analytical mind with an aptitude for problem-solving, an ability to differentiate between solving a symptom vs. identifying the root issue, and an ability to address current problems, while projecting and preventing potential future issues. Strong organizational and time management skills; an ability to complete tasks and deliver expected outcomes under tight deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with business users/stakeholders, and work harmoniously with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and expertise in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, MyCreds, Blackbaud Award Management, Symplicity Advocate/Accommodate, and/or Modern Campus products is highly valued.
