Fund Accounting Director - Remote

About the Role:

"Applicants must be based in Ireland. Office attendance is required once a month.

As Fund Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of NAV production for a portfolio of hedge fund clients. You’ll lead and mentor a team of fund accountants, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of services while fostering a high-performance culture. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key part in process improvement, relationship management, and supporting the continued development of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of fund accountants, providing direction, oversight and mentoring
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure delivery of agreed service levels
• Review and sign off on daily and monthly NAV calculations
• Ensure timely resolution of reconciliation issues, aged items and complex queries
• Support onboarding and transitions of new clients and fund launches
• Review fee calculations, P&L allocations and fund performance reporting
• Coordinate audit processes and support the preparation of financial statements
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure smooth service delivery
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
• Support recruitment, training and development of fund accounting staff

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a hedge fund administration environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
• Progression towards (or interest in pursuing) a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA is beneficial
• Strong understanding of NAV calculation and fund accounting principles
• Excellent communication and client management skills
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with accounting systems and general IT tools
