  • Collaborate with senior leaders, trustees and fundraising professionals.
  • Develop innovative fundraising propositions linked to an internationally renowned cultural programme.
  • Make a lasting contribution to the future of the British Museum and the millions of people who engage with it every year.

If you're a highly organised fundraising or development professional who enjoys bringing people, projects and ideas together to achieve ambitious goals, we'd love to hear from you.

About you

  • Experience delivering collateral for fundraising campaigns and donor packages and proposals.
  • Experience of governance, reporting and stakeholder management in a complex environment.
  • Able to prioritise effectively with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Provide project management leadership for the Masterplan fundraising Campaign, ensuring activity is aligned with strategic priorities, timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate campaign activity across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, events and operations teams.
  • Drive campaign planning, reporting, governance and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain compelling campaign propositions, cases for support and donor materials.

  • Work collaboratively across the Museum to identify funding opportunities and develop high-value fundraising propositions.
  • Help establish effective ways of working across a large and complex stakeholder landscape.

The Masterplan

The British Museum is undertaking its biggest transformation since its founding nearly 300 years ago. This physical and intellectual transformation includes large scale building and gallery transformation, new ways of connecting with audiences and different ways of working. As we look towards this exciting future, we remain guided by the words of our founder Hans Sloane - who dreamed of a museum connecting all arts and sciences, which would be accessible to everyone, everywhere.
