Role Description This part-time remote role as GCSE Math Curriculum Head involves leading the design, development, and continuous improvement of the GCSE Math curriculum. The role includes mapping learning outcomes, creating and reviewing lesson plans, assessments, and teaching resources to ensure alignment with GCSE standards and FcC’s learning philosophy. The curriculum head collaborates with teachers to support effective instruction, provides guidance on pedagogy, and analyzes student performance data to refine materials and strategies. Day-to-day tasks also include quality assurance of course content, mentoring educators on curriculum use, and ensuring the curriculum remains current, engaging, and inclusive for diverse learners.
Qualifications

• Strong subject-matter expertise in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, with the ability to design clear, progressive learning pathways for GCSE-level learners.
• Status as a Qualified Teacher with proven classroom experience and familiarity with GCSE examination requirements and standards.
• Demonstrated experience in Curriculum Development, including creating, evaluating, and iterating lesson plans, assessments, and teaching resources.
• Educational Leadership skills, including mentoring educators, coordinating academic initiatives, and maintaining high instructional quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in accessible ways.
• Experience with online or blended learning environments and comfort using digital tools for remote collaboration and instruction.
• Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered practices and the ability to support students with varied backgrounds and abilities.
• Relevant degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field; postgraduate qualifications or curriculum leadership experience are an advantage.
