General Accounting Senior Manager

Job Title: General Accounting Senior Manager Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid) Position Type: Full Time Position Summary Latigo Biotherapeutics is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant with strong general accounting experience to support the Company’s growing accounting function. Key Responsibilities Manage general accounting areas such as R&D and CMC accruals and other liabilities, among others Support the team in various other financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies Prepare related journal entries, reconciliations, roll forwards, supporting schedules, and flux analyses Cross collaboration with other functions to obtain critical inputs and assumptions for monthly accrual determination Analyze financial results, account activity, and balance sheet reconciliations while identifying and resolving accounting issues, unusual transactions, and reporting variances Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements Help drafting accounting policies and SOPs and keeping them current Use AI, automation and process simplification to identify and implement process improvements that strengthen financial reporting, accounting controls, operational efficiency, and compliance Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls. CPA preferred Biotechnology, life sciences, CMC or R&D accrual experience preferred. Experience supporting system implementations, workflow automation, data validation, or AI-enabled tools is a plus Experience with NetSuite required, experience with Prendio, Coupa and Expensify is beneficial Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
