Job Description: Geography / Geoscience Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Overview

We are seeking qualified Geography / Geoscience subject matter experts (SMEs) to review, refine, author, and enhance a range of higher education learning assets and AI-generated educational materials.

The ideal candidate possesses deep domain expertise in Geography/Geoscience, a keen eye for academic accuracy, and experience working with modern digital learning tools, lecture materials, and assessments.

Key Scope of Work & Deliverables

1. Test Banks

• Review AI-generated test bank content for scientific accuracy.
• Fact-check questions/answers and update content where required to meet educational standards.

2. Instructor Manuals

• Review existing manuals for subject accuracy, enhance pedagogical value, and refine instructor guidance.

3. Supplementary Learning Assets

• Validate accuracy, check for clarity, and improve overall content quality for AI-generated supplementary learning materials.

4. Lecture PPTs

• Review AI-generated slide decks, recommend structural or factual updates, and revise slide content for classroom delivery.

5. Mastering Assessments

• Revise existing assessment content and author new, high-quality assessment items aligned with course learning objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Subject expertise: Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred) in Geography, Geoscience, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Proven background in academic authoring, curriculum development, or SME review for higher education content.
• AI familiarity: Comfortable working with, validating, and refining AI-generated educational materials.
• Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to factual accuracy, terminology, and pedagogical structure.
