About the Role

An established international consumer brand is looking for a commercially driven E-Commerce Senior Manager to lead and scale our digital footprint in Japan.

Positioned within our Tokyo Sales organization, you will hold full P&L ownership of our online operations, driving profitable growth across primary marketplaces like Amazon Japan and Rakuten, while shaping the future launch and expansion of our direct-to-consumer platform (Brand.com).

Key Responsibilities

• Marketplace & Channel Ownership: Take complete charge of the Japan e-commerce business, driving daily performance, merchandising, PDP optimization, and campaign execution on Amazon Japan, Rakuten, and future Brand.com initiatives.
• P&L & Commercial Strategy: Manage full P&L accountability, annual budgeting, forecasting, and promotional investments to ensure profitable growth aligned with global standards.
• Execution & Operations: Oversee stock planning, logistics coordination, pricing strategies, and platform-specific operational compliance.
• Agency & Partner Management: Direct external media, affiliate, and marketplace management agencies to maximize ROI, ROAS, and TACOS.
• Global Alignment: Collaborate closely with regional and international leadership teams, integrating global brand objectives into localized execution plans.

Candidate Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements (Must Have):

• Marketplace Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience scaling and managing both Amazon Japan and Rakuten operations.
• Track Record: 8 to 10 years of progressive e-commerce experience with proven P&L management and end-to-end KPI ownership (ROAS, conversion, stock health, net margins).
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in both Japanese and English (business/native level) with strong communication capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Background in Luxury, Prestige Beauty, Consumer Electronics, or high-growth retail brands.
• Proven experience building or scaling a Brand.com (DTC) channel in Japan.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
