Apply Description Girl Program Manager Reports to: Vice President of Programs & Partnerships Supervises: None; provides functional leadership to volunteer program facilitators Position: Full-time, Salaried Location: Hybrid Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, with evenings and travel as needed JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The Girl Program Manager leads the development and direct delivery of high-quality Girl Scout programming across the council’s geographic footprint. This position creates accessible, engaging opportunities for girls to participate in badge, patch, leadership, STEM, outdoor, and other Girl Scout experiences at the Leadership Center, camp properties, Service Unit locations, and community-based pop-ups. A key focus of this role is expanding GSWCF’s capacity to deliver programming by recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting a sustainable network of volunteer program facilitators. The Girl Program Manager also leads the development and implementation of Summer Day Camp pilot and collaborates across departments to create experiences that strengthen girl engagement, retention, and connection to the broader Girl Scout experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Girl Program Delivery & Engagement Develop and deliver a year-round calendar of council-led programming at the Leadership Center, camp properties, Service Unit locations, and community locations. Utilize existing Girl Scout badges, Leadership Awards, sponsored patch programs, council patches, and other established resources to create engaging and repeatable girl experiences. Provide direct program facilitation when volunteer or partner facilitators are unavailable. Cross-collaborate with departments to develop programming that connects girls to broader Girl Scout opportunities. Identify opportunities for Leadership Center programming to incorporate Retail experiences, badge and award recognition, and relevant merchandise. Ensure programming includes opportunities across K-12 grade levels. Volunteer-Led Programming & Service Unit Support Recruit, train, schedule, and support a network of volunteer program facilitators capable of delivering council programming throughout the eight-county footprint. Develop facilitator tools, training, and program materials that allow successful programs to be replicated consistently across locations. Partner with Service Units requesting program support to identify existing council programs, badges, patches, or volunteer facilitators that can meet local needs. Support Service Units in expanding visibility of local program opportunities through the council calendar and appropriate communication channels. Engage Green Team and other volunteers in program delivery at signature events, camps, Leadership Center programs, and community pop-ups. Summer Day Camp Lead the design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Summer Day Camp pilot. Develop the camp model, weekly themes, program schedule, pricing recommendations, capacity, staffing and volunteer facilitator needs, and participant experience. Collaborate with Outdoor Programs to ensure appropriate safety standards, procedures, and Girl Scout camp practices are incorporated into the model. Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers and facilitators for camp delivery. Evaluate the pilot using participation, financial performance, girl and caregiver feedback, and operational outcomes and provide recommendations for future growth. PROGRAM OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS Ensure program spaces, materials, supplies, facilitator resources, and equipment are secured and prepared for council-led programs. Maintain accurate program calendars, facilitator schedules, participation records, and program documentation. Coordinate with council teams regarding registration, promotion, participant communication, and program updates. Track participation and program outcomes with attention to age level, geography, repeat participation, and equitable access. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, youth development, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 3+ years of experience developing and facilitating youth programs in camp, after-school, community, museum, recreation, Girl Scout, or similar environments. Demonstrated experience engaging, training, or coordinating volunteers or program facilitators. Experience developing age-appropriate, hands-on programming across multiple subject areas. Ability to translate established curriculum, badges, or program resources into engaging in-person experiences. Experience coordinating multiple programs, locations, schedules, and priorities simultaneously. Experience with summer camp, day camp, or other intensive youth programming strongly preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Salesforce, registration platforms, and other council technology. PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS Ability to perform work requiring up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. consistently to move program materials and equipment. Reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance, and a safe driving record. Ability to work at council properties and community locations throughout the jurisdiction. Knowledge and acceptance of the beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout movement and willingness to register as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA. COUNCIL-PROVIDED TOOLS Laptop, phone, and workstation at the Leadership Center. Training on Salesforce, council databases, safety standards, and organizational best practices.
