About The Role
Why Work at Sweco? At Sweco’s Digital Services division, we lead the digital frontier for a smarter and more sustainable society. Among your future colleagues are GIS and geospatial experts, BIM specialists, digitalization leaders, data and information coordinators, FME experts, system developers, UX designers, IT security specialists, and other IT professionals. We offer a flexible workplace where you have significant influence over your work setup, schedule, and location—including full remote work options. We highly value employee well-being and foster a coaching, supportive leadership style with strong autonomy. Our goal is to be a workplace that encourages continuous learning and offers excellent internal development opportunities. Your Future Role At Digital Services, we work across the full GIS spectrum—from map production to advanced analytics and GIS development. Our daily work often focuses on efficiency and automation through GIS. While platform-agnostic, we commonly use ESRI products and Safe Software’s FME. Our mission is to develop, streamline, and digitize smart solutions that make a tangible, sustainable impact in everyday life and society. As a GIS developer, you’ll work on exciting client projects where GIS, FME, and software development are central to helping clients optimize their operations. You’ll support clients in processing information, performing advanced analyses on large datasets, automating workflows, and visualizing and sharing data with diverse stakeholders. Our close collaboration with clients ensures that our solutions always meet their specific needs and expectations. This is a full-time position, starting by mutual agreement, based in Linköping with remote work options. Who We’re Looking For We believe you want to contribute to a sustainable society through digitalization and have a strong passion for GIS development, geospatial data, and databases. To thrive in a consulting role, personal qualities are highly valued in our recruitment. Therefore, we expect you to be curious about both technology/AI and business, and to proactively identify and develop new business opportunities. Collaboration—both with clients and colleagues—is highly valued at Sweco, so you should be communicative, socially engaged, and motivated by analyzing complex issues and finding sustainable solutions to real-world problems. By sharing your knowledge, you help Sweco stay at the technological forefront and deliver sustainable digital solutions. In your role, you’ll take full ownership of your work and structure your tasks independently. Furthermore, we expect you to hold a higher education degree and preferably at least three years of relevant work experience. Key competencies include: Experience with ESRI products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Enterprise) FME experience—ideally both FME Desktop (Form) and FME Server (Flow) Understanding of data structures, web services, and data quality within the ArcGIS platform—or alternatively, open-source GIS solutions Development skills in Python or other programming languages Experience with spatial databases (SQL Server, PostGIS, or Oracle) Bonus Qualifications Experience with GIS and geodata in municipal or public administration Experience with infrastructure management or technical infrastructure projects Open-source GIS tools JavaScript or other programming languages Machine learning or AI experience You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, in speech and writing. Application This job posting is open until 2026-09-20. Applications must be submitted via our online application form—we do not accept applications by email.
