GIS Teacher

Role Description The Geoinformatics Teacher will design and deliver online lessons and tutorials on GIS, Remote Sensing, and related geospatial topics. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning course content, preparing digital teaching materials, recording or conducting live sessions, and providing feedback on assignments and learner questions. The role also involves updating content to reflect current tools and methodologies, and collaborating with the team to improve educational resources. This is a part-time, remote role that offers flexible scheduling while maintaining regular availability for learners.
Qualifications

• Strong Teaching and Training skills, with experience guiding learners in technical subjects.
• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Education methodologies, including structuring online courses and tutorials.
• Effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex geospatial concepts in clear, accessible language.
• Practical knowledge of GIS and Remote Sensing software and workflows (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, ERDAS, ENVI or similar tools).
• Experience creating digital educational content, such as video tutorials, presentations, and written guides.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet agreed deadlines.
• Relevant academic background in Geoinformatics, Geography, Earth Sciences, or a related field; prior teaching or mentoring experience is highly beneficial.
