This is a highly visible role responsible for ensuring continuity of supply across a complex and dynamic semiconductor landscape. The successful candidate will lead supplier escalation and shortage management activities while developing long-term commodity strategies that support business growth, product innovation, and operational resilience. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, can effectively navigate supply constraints, influence executive stakeholders, and build strong supplier partnerships to mitigate risk and secure supply. Reporting to the Director of Global Direct Procurement, this individual will own the global semiconductor spend and serve as the primary procurement leader for one of the company's most critical commodities. IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL: Develop and execute global semiconductor commodity strategies that balance business growth objectives, cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and risk mitigation. Lead supplier escalation activities and act as the primary point of contact for supply shortages, allocation challenges, capacity constraints, and critical business continuity issues. Partner closely with suppliers to secure capacity, improve lead time visibility, influence allocation decisions, and mitigate supply disruptions. Drive cross-functional shortage management activities with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to minimize business impact. Establish and maintain executive-level supplier relationships to improve responsiveness, accountability, and long-term strategic alignment. Monitor semiconductor market intelligence, technology roadmaps, capacity trends, geopolitical developments, and supplier risk factors to proactively identify risks and opportunities. Lead sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management activities to achieve best-in-class commercial outcomes and total cost of ownership improvements. Identify and execute opportunities that improve cost, productivity, operational efficiency, and sustainability performance. Develop and implement supply risk mitigation plans, including alternate sourcing strategies, lifecycle management initiatives, inventory strategies, and supplier resiliency programs. Present supply risk assessments, commodity strategies, market intelligence, and executive updates to senior leadership. Drive supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and responsiveness metrics. Mentor procurement team members and foster strong cross-functional collaboration across the organization. Champion Emerson and NI values, culture, and leadership principles within internal and external partnerships. WHO YOU ARE: You adapt quickly to changing conditions. Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations, supplier escalations, shortage management, allocation management, and business continuity initiatives. Proven track record influencing outcomes during challenging supply environments and managing complex supplier relationships. Strong negotiation and contract management skills with experience driving commercial outcomes in constrained markets. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions without direct authority. Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret market intelligence, supplier performance metrics, and risk indicators. Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience presenting to senior leaders and executive stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution in a dynamic environment. Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for hire.
