Go Engineer @ Mondu

Mondu’s mission is to build the world’s leading B2B payments platform. You will join a high-performing engineering team working on core purchasing systems powering credit risk, fraud detection, and operational workflows. Our architecture is microservices-based, event-driven, and cloud-native. While Go remains the primary backend language, the systems you build will increasingly integrate with AI-powered decisioning, data intelligence pipelines, and automation systems. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy distributed systems, high-scale backend engineering, and working at the intersection of fintech and AI-driven decisioning. We are evolving our platform to leverage: ● AI-assisted assessments ● LLM-powered internal tools for operations and support automation ● Event-driven intelligence pipelines for real-time decisioning ● Data-rich services that feed machine learning models ● Strong emphasis on observability and automated decision systems You won’t just build APIs. You’ll help shape how intelligent systems make financial decisions at scale. Requirements: ● Strong proficiency in Go for building scalable backend services ● Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture ● Experience designing and building systems that are data-intensive ● Strong communication skills and ability to work across product, data, and engineering teams ● Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems ● Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in production environments ● Understanding of software architecture patterns and tradeoffs ● Practical experience integrating LLMs into production systems ● Understanding of how to build guardrails around AI decisioning: fallbacks, confidence thresholds, human-in-the-loop escalation, and auditability of automated decisions Technical Skills: ● Go (core requirement) ● PostgreSQL (and relational modeling at scale) ● Kafka (event-driven systems, streaming pipelines) ● Redis (caching, low-latency systems) ● AWS (EKS, S3, IAM, etc.) ● Kubernetes ● Terraform (infrastructure as code) ● GitHub Actions (CI/CD) ● LLM APIs Desirable but not essential: ● Experience in fintech, payments, or high-risk transaction systems ● Startup experience with rapidly evolving architecture ● Comfortable working with Frontend Applications _____ Q & A: - Does the job come with a probation period, and if so, how long does it last?
