CT Humanities (CTH), a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities located in Middletown, Connecticut, seeks a full-time (37.5 hours) grants assistant. Our mission: To cultivate, invest in, and advocate for the cultural sector in Connecticut through funding, programs, and collaboration. Position Summary The grants assistant provides support to grants staff. Duties include meeting coordination; communication with grantees; recording and transcribing meeting minutes; and data entry. Core Responsibilities Grants Support Manage the general grants inbox, respond to queries, and assign consults with the appropriate person on the grants team and invite programs staff when appropriate Coordinate/schedule meetings for staff with external stakeholders Assist applicants with logistical questions and updates to applicant accounts in the grants database Process applications in grants database and ensure organization records are accurate Organize digital and paper files Process grant follow ups (reports, forms, etc.) and bring questions and/or approval requests to grant leads Supply information to communications team and others as needed Plan for, setup, and breakdown in-person committee meetings Find a location for in-person meetings Order food Set up and break down meeting on site Record, transcribe, and proofread meeting minutes Other Duties: Program Support Support other staff with meeting preparation, setup, and breakdown as needed Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills (Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and PowerPoint) Desire to work with diverse communities, peoples, and organizations Words that Describe You Organized and attention to detail Courteous and respectful Knowledge and interest in social justice, historical and contemporary cultural narratives and/or explorative storytelling is a plus Requirements Ability to travel in-state occasionally (5% of time) Occasional attendance at events/meetings outside regular business hours Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage 403(b) plan with employer match Generous PTO, sick leave, and state and federal holidays Life, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid parking for in-office days Hybrid work environment CTH’s workdays are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday with room for flexibility in employee schedules.
