Starting Salary: $25+ per hour, DOE Position Type: Part-Time, 25–30 hours/week Work Arrangement: Hybrid or Remote Eligible Are you a strong storyteller, strategic thinker, and relationship builder who wants your work to make a meaningful difference in your community? Join us at the YMCA of the Black Hills as our next Grants & Impact Reporting Manager! This is an opportunity to use your writing, organizational, and analytical skills to help advance a mission that strengthens our local communities. As a key partner to YMCA leadership and program teams, you'll help identify and secure funding, manage grants from application through award, and tell the story of the impact the Y is making every day. In this role, you'll lead the full grant lifecycle - from researching funding opportunities and developing compelling proposals to managing compliance, tracking budgets, coordinating reporting, and identifying opportunities for renewal. You'll work closely with program directors, branch leaders, finance, marketing, and administration to connect funding opportunities with the programs and strategic priorities that matter most to our community. Great grant writing is about understanding our funder's priorities, recognizing the strengths of our programs, and telling a compelling story about why our work matters. You'll bring together program outcomes, participant data, success stories, and financial information to create proposals and reports that demonstrate the YMCA's effectiveness and community impact. You'll also bring your strategic and detail-oriented side to the table by maintaining a comprehensive grants calendar and database, monitoring reporting deadlines, supporting grant compliance, tracking budgets and allowable expenses, and coordinating the collection of outcome data across YMCA programs. Your work will help ensure we're not only securing resources, but also stewarding them responsibly and demonstrating meaningful results to our funding partners. Building strong relationships will be at the heart of your success. You'll serve as an internal resource on grant development, compliance, and impact reporting while collaborating with staff across the organization to gather the information needed for strong applications and accurate reports. Whether you're working with a program director to identify a powerful success story, partnering with finance on a grant budget, or helping leadership understand the organization's funding landscape, you'll play an important role in connecting people, information, and opportunity. We're looking for someone who is highly organized, self-directed, an exceptional writer, and comfortable working with both people and data. You'll need the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines, think critically, communicate clearly, and turn complex information into compelling narratives. A Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, communications, business, education, social sciences, or a related field is preferred, along with 3–5 years of experience in grant writing, grants management, nonprofit development, program evaluation, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Experience securing foundation, corporate, government, or community grants is important, and experience with government grants, grant compliance, outcome measurement, nonprofit financial management, or YMCA-related program areas is a plus. Proficiency with CRM systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools will help you hit the ground running. This position may be performed through a hybrid or remote work arrangement, with a flexible schedule within regular YMCA business hours. Regular availability during business hours is important for collaboration, meetings, grant planning, and gathering information from program teams. Occasional travel between YMCA branches may also be required. At the YMCA of the Black Hills, we're committed to creating a culture where people can belong, become, and make a difference. We're welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined - and we believe strengthening our community starts with investing in the people and programs that serve it. If you're ready to put your skills to work securing resources, telling powerful stories, and demonstrating the difference the YMCA makes in the lives of people throughout our community, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help us strengthen the foundations of our community!
