Are you a strategic and hands-on HSE leader passionate about making a genuine impact across a multi-site business? Neptune Pacific is undergoing an exciting phase of transformation and growth. Established in 2020 through the acquisition of Pacific Direct Line, the business brought together two of the South Pacific’s leading shipping and logistics providers to deliver fully integrated supply chain solutions across the region. Today, Neptune Pacific continues to strengthen its network and capabilities across the Pacific and beyond. The company is part of The Wonderful Company, headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The Wonderful Company’s portfolio includes globally recognised brands such as FIJI Water, JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, Landmark Vineyards, Wonderful Citrus, Wonderful Pistachios, Teleflora, POM Wonderful and Suterra. We are now looking for a Group Health, Safety & Environmental (EHS) Manager to play a key leadership role in shaping and driving Neptune Pacific's safety, health and environmental strategy across New Zealand and the Pacific. This is an opportunity to influence how we manage risk, develop our leaders, and create a culture where safety, learning and operational excellence go hand in hand. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires more than developing strategy. You will work closely with leaders and teams across the business to implement change, build capability, strengthen critical controls and deliver meaningful safety outcomes. What You Will Do: This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the safety and sustainability of our business, our people and the communities in which we operate. Occasional travel throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands will be required. Lead the development and implementation of Neptune Pacific’s Group EHS Strategy, driving a consistent approach to safety, health and environmental performance across New Zealand and the Pacific. Champion the transition from compliance-focused safety to a learning culture centred on Human & Organisational Performance (HOP), critical risk management and operational excellence. Lead the development and continual improvement of the Group EHS Management System, including standards, governance frameworks, assurance programmes and performance reporting. Partner with Country Managers, Operational Leaders and Site Leaders to ensure ownership of risk remains within operations while providing expert advice, challenge and support. Drive the Critical Risk Management programme, ensuring controls for high-consequence hazards are identified, verified, effective and consistently applied across the business. Lead the response to significant incidents and potential serious injury and fatality (PSIF) events, ensuring quality investigations, organisational learning and sustainable corrective actions. Build leadership capability at all levels through coaching, training, learning reviews, safety conversations and field engagement. Establish and oversee Group assurance activities, including audits, risk reviews, critical control verification and governance reporting. Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance obligations are understood and effectively managed. Lead, develop and support the wider EHS team across the network, creating capability, consistency and a culture of continuous improvement. Use data and insights to identify trends, manage risk exposure, measure effectiveness and support informed decision-making. Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and industry partners to promote safe and sustainable operations throughout the supply chain. What You’ll Bring to the Table: A relevant tertiary qualification is highly desirable, and the drive to lead with purpose and professionalism. A natural safety champion—you walk the talk, lead by example, and inspire a culture where safety is second nature in a multi-site environment. A resilient go-getter, thriving under pressure and always ready to tackle tough challenges head-on. A master communicator and influencer, with the ability to connect, engage, and win hearts and minds across all levels of the business. Proven leadership experience in senior HSE roles within logistics, transport, or other high-risk environments—you're no stranger to complexity or scale. Certifications in ICAM or similar incident investigation methodologies, and the confidence to lead investigations that drive real change. A continuous improvement powerhouse—you question the status quo and proactively seek smarter, safer, and more effective ways of working. Sharp analytical skills with a knack for digging into the data, pinpointing root causes, and driving impactful corrective actions. Tech-savvy and fluent in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)—you use systems to tell compelling stories and keep everyone aligned. This is a full-time permanent role based in Auckland. In return we offer a challenging and stimulating environment. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test. Our Neptune Pacific Contribution: Competitive benefits package (salary plus bonus). Hybrid working model. Opportunity for development and internal mobility. Wonderful Giving - allowing you to donate company money to a cause of your choice. Wonderful Neighbour - spend a day in the community helping with various service projects. Company focused on wellness and health. If you're ready to drive meaningful change and take ownership of our global HSE journey, we want to hear from you! #LI-KM1 EEO is the law - click here for more information
