Remote Group Health Underwriter (Contract)

100% Remote | Contract Through the End of the Year | $30/hr | Equipment Provided

We're seeking experienced Healthcare Insurance Underwriters to join a fast-growing insurance organization during a busy enrollment season. This is a great opportunity for underwriters who enjoy working independently, learning quickly, and contributing in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Review insurance applications and supporting documentation to evaluate risk and determine eligibility for coverage.
Make underwriting decisions based on established guidelines, pricing strategies, and risk appetite.
Partner with senior underwriters on complex cases and escalate exceptions as needed.
Accurately document underwriting decisions and maintain records within internal systems.
Identify trends in underwriting outcomes and provide feedback to support process improvements.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Claims, and Operations, to support an efficient customer experience.

Qualifications

2+ years of Healthcare Insurance Underwriting experience required
Bachelor's degree required
Group Health underwriting experience strongly preferred.
Salesforce experience is a plus.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to quickly learn new processes.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
