Working across Risk, Financial Crime and Compliance, you will play an important role in supporting governance, assurance and risk event activities while helping to improve the way insight, reporting and technology are used across the Group. You will join a collaborative and evolving division where your work will have a visible impact. This role offers the opportunity to build broad experience across risk, compliance, financial crime and assurance while contributing to meaningful improvements in processes, controls, reporting and stakeholder engagement. This analyst-level role offers variety, visibility and scope to shape both the position and your future career in assurance, risk, financial crime or compliance. Prior Second Line of Defence experience is useful but not essential to succeed in this role; what matters most is curiosity, strong proven analytical and organisational skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Reporting to the Group Risk Manager, you will own and maintain key insight, reporting and governance activities across Second Line of Defence assurance and risk event processes. This includes supporting escalation reporting, managing data quality and integrity within the GRC tool, and helping the division deliver its objectives efficiently and effectively. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: Work with the Group Risk Managers to embed and manage the new risk event process, including event triage, escalation, reporting and root cause analysis. Manage and maintain the central record of new, open and closed Second and Third Line assurance findings. Develop insight-led exception reporting and proactively support business owners with evidence collation and timely closure of findings. Act as day-to-day administrator for the GRC tool, generating risk and compliance assurance reporting, escalating items to relevant stakeholders and maintaining data quality. Manage the Second Line delivery plan, including the coordination and preparation of governance reporting packs and action tracking. Monitor and maintain Compliance and Financial Crime monitoring plans and related action tracking. Work with Second Line subject matter experts to support process and control testing, root cause analysis and evidence review. Help develop and deliver training activities for business stakeholders. Act as a key interface between the business, Group Risk and Compliance, supporting efficient collaboration across the Second Line of Defence. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications: You will be a highly organised, adaptable and curious self-starter who will always seek opportunities to improve how things work. You will bring a solutions-focused mindset, strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the business. Skills and attributes A proactive approach, with a belief that there is always a better way to do things, and with a strong preference for action. Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to turn information into useful insight. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A people person with strong interpersonal skills, and confidence working with multiple stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills, developed in a dynamic environment. The ability to manage upwards effectively, ensuring tasks are well planned, delivered on time and tailored to the audience. A lateral-thinking approach, with an appreciation of well-designed processes and controls. Genuine interest in using technology-based solutions to improve team efficiency, stakeholder service and business outcomes. Experience and interests Previous experience of Second Line of Defence activities, supporting first line controls programmes, or hands-on experience using insight and exception reporting to support better decision-making. An interest in risk, compliance, financial crime, assurance or internal audit programmes. An understanding of the importance of embedding assurance findings into day-to-day business practices to drive better customer outcomes and business value. A track record in driving your own development and learning.
