Growth Engagement Specialist (12-month contract)

About the role We're hiring a Growth Engagement Specialist to play a critical role in Wealthsimple's proactive client communication initiatives. This role is both technical and creative, where you'll work on the planning and execution of end-to-end growth marketing campaigns across Wealthsimple's brand and product ecosystem, using AI-assisted tooling to do it faster and better than ever before. The ideal candidate is one who can think "client-first," who can balance multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing on quality, and who understands the interconnected technical and creative elements of consumer performance marketing programs — including where AI can meaningfully accelerate or improve that work. You'll be joining our multidisciplinary Growth organization where you'll work with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, Design, Data Science, and other growth and lifecycle marketers like yourself. What you'll do Own day-to-day execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns (esp. in-app content, email and mobile push), including segmenting target audiences, orchestrating multi-channel journeys, building templates, QA & deploying campaigns, and reporting on performance Use AI tools (e.g. Claude, Braze's AI features, or similar) to speed up QA, content generation, campaign briefs, and reporting, and help build repeatable AI-powered workflows for the broader lifecycle team Work with the Growth Engagement product team to continue to improve and grow marketing tooling and build first-of-their-kind client journeys Ideate & experiment on growth engagement strategies/tactics, including personalization and content variation, to drive client activation, retention, engagement, and cross-sell of users within Wealthsimple's product ecosystem Analyze campaign and program performance; proactively report on campaign impact, client behaviours, and experimental results/learnings, using AI tools to accelerate analysis and synthesis where useful Execute and analyze A/B tests to increase campaign performance and conversion rates What you bring 2-5 years hands-on experience using marketing automation platforms (e.g. Braze or Iterable preferred); demonstrated ability to rapidly adapt to new tools and processes 1+ year experience coding for email, or equivalent HTML/CSS skill required; SQL experience a plus Genuine enthusiasm for using AI tools (e.g. Claude or similar) in day-to-day marketing execution, comfort experimenting with prompts, workflows, and AI-assisted QA, not just traditional tooling Strong understanding of audience segmentation across channels, campaigns, and more required Understanding of marketing technology best practices, including responsive design, inboxing/deliverability, and audience segmentation Campaign performance analysis & reporting, A/B testing experience required; demonstrated experimental design ability a strong plus Familiarity with key elements of lifecycle marketing acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention strategies & tactics (esp. automated customer journeys, triggered comms, and multi-channel campaigns) Experience with mobile marketing (e.g. push notifications, in-app messaging) is a plus Proven success in working with cross-functional teams (e.g. Marketing, Product, Creative, Engineering, Data, etc.) to set and execute against data-informed growth targets/OKRs Naturally collaborative and empathetic — both with colleagues and on behalf of clients Curious and adaptable mindset — excited to keep pace as AI reshapes marketing tooling and workflows, and to help teammates adopt new ways of working Why Wealthsimple? 🌸 Top-tier health benefits and life insurance 📈 Long-term group savings with employer match, through Wealthsimple for Business 🌴 20 vacation days, 4 wellness days, and unlimited sick and mental health days per year ✈️ 90 days away: work outside Canada for up to 90 days per year 👥 Employee resource groups, including Rainbow (2SLGBTQ), Women of WS, and Black at WS 🌎 We are a hybrid team with over 1,500 employees across North America.
