This is a pivotal senior leadership role where you'll shape the future of workplace health and safety. You'll work at the executive level, reporting directly to our Chief Risk & Assurance Officer, leading transformational change that protects our workforce and strengthens our business resilience. What you’ll be doing: Leading Strategic Change: Design and implement comprehensive organisational strategies to prevent musculoskeletal injuries, occupational illness, and key health risks across all UK & Ireland businesses Driving Excellence: Establish long-term health and injury management strategies that embed prevention, early intervention, occupational hygiene, and effective return-to-work programmes Building High-Performance Teams: Lead and mentor 0-3 direct reports and influence up to 24 indirect reports, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Partnering with Stakeholders: Collaborate with operational leaders, clinicians, and external providers to ensure compliance, quality service delivery, and robust governance Advising at the Top: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Committee, providing strategic insights on emerging risks, regulatory changes, and workforce trends Championing Compliance: Ensure accurate, timely reporting to regulators and deliver actionable intelligence for executive decision-making. What we’re looking for: Essential: Degree in a health-related field (health management, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy) OR extensive industry experience in a similar senior role Proven track record in leading occupational health, risk management, and accident/incident investigation Demonstrated success delivering change and improvement programmes - a strategic thinker with the ability to create implementation plans and drive organisational change Strong experience working at senior level in a collaborative, matrix environment, with business acumen combined with financial management capability Pragmatic problem-solver with strong project management skills Willing to be visible and accessible – you'll visit sites and meet teams regularly Desirable: NEBOSH Certificate Apply now and help us build a safer, healthier workplace for everyone.
