Location: Europe (Rotterdam area, Paris or other Marlink hub) - hybrid, with international travel

About Marlink Cyber

Marlink Cyber is the dedicated cybersecurity company of the Marlink Group, created in 2025 by combining Marlink’s in-house security capabilities with the acquired expertise of Port-IT and Diverto. With around 150 cybersecurity experts and multiple Security Operations Centres worldwide, Marlink Cyber protects customers operating in remote and business-critical environments — maritime, offshore energy, oil and gas, yachting and enterprise. The portfolio spans managed detection and response (SOC, EDR, NDR), network and edge security (UTM/firewalls), OT security, external attack surface management (EASM), professional services and GRC, all delivered through a Unified Cyber Portal. Thousands of vessels and remote sites rely on Marlink Cyber every day, often over constrained satellite connectivity — an operating environment generic cybersecurity vendors rarely understand.

Within Marlink Cyber, the product organization is structured around five solution domains: Network & Edge Security, Detection & Response, Endpoint, Identity & Access, OT Security, and Professional Services & GRC. The Head of Network & Edge Security is one of the open leadership positions in this target organization and owns one of the highest volume, most operationally critical domains in the portfolio.

Role Purpose

The Head of Network & Edge Security owns the strategy, roadmap, lifecycle and group P&L of the Network & Edge Security domain across the Marlink Group. The role ensures that the domain’s products are scalable, commercially viable, differentiated and aligned with the group portfolio strategy, while maintaining a single, coherent product definition across all Business Units. This is a “make the right products” role: it shapes direction and design, while BU Product Managers make the products work operationally at scale and BU Product Marketing makes them understood, desired and bought.

What you’ll do

Strategy & roadmap:

  • Define the product vision, positioning and long-term strategy for Network & Edge Security across the group
  • Own and maintain the domain roadmap and prioritization; balance strategic bets against legacy drag
  • Lead the product design process end-to-end: customer need, business case and technical feasibility
  • Translate market studies, customer insights, threat trends and regulatory drivers (e.g. IMO, IACS UR E26/E27, USCG, NIS2) into clear group product requirements

Product & lifecycle ownership:

  • Define packaging, product scope, SLAs and margin guardrails for the domain
  • Lead group product lifecycle management (launch, evolve, retire), including vendor selection and exit strategies
  • Ensure consolidation and a unified product definition across Business Units; eliminate duplication
  • Own the domain’s group P&L: ARR growth, differentiation and strategic portfolio value

Matrix leadership & collaboration:

  • Functionally lead the BU Product Manager(s) for Network & Edge Security (dotted line: standards, methods, veto rights and product priorities)
  • Partner with BU Product Managers on translation to the BU operational environment and vertical market analysis
  • Partner with BU Product Marketing on product narrative, value propositions and launch inputs
  • Collaborate with peer Heads of Product (Detection & Response; Endpoint, Identity & Access; OT Security; Professional Services & GRC) on cross-domain solutions and shared platform decisions
  • Collaborate with multiple teams such as Managed Services, Technology, Development and Group Engineering but not limited to these
  • Act as the escalation point for trans-BU product decisions and exceptions in the domain
  • Represent the domain in the Portfolio Committee and prepare escalations and investment cases for the IDC

Your profile

  • 8+ years in product, platform or portfolio management, with at least 3 years in network security, managed security services or adjacent domains
  • Solid technical foundation in network security: firewalls/UTM, segmentation, secure access, traffic inspection; comfortable in vendor evaluations and architecture discussions
  • Commercial and financial literacy: P&L ownership, pricing, margin management and business-case construction
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization, including dotted-line leadership of people who report elsewhere
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking; able to turn ambiguity into a prioritized roadmap
  • Fluent English; excellent written and verbal communication for executive and customer audiences

Nice to have:

  • Experience in maritime, offshore energy or other remote/constrained-connectivity environments
  • Familiarity with MSSP business models, multi-vendor portfolio management and SOC integrations
  • Knowledge of maritime and critical-infrastructure cyber regulation (IMO 2021, IACS UR E26/E27, NIS2, USCG cyber rule)
  • Experience rationalizing legacy portfolios or post-merger product consolidation

What’s in it for you

  • A group-level product leadership role in a fast-growing cybersecurity company with a clear market position in maritime and remote operations
  • Real decision rights: one product, one Head of Product - you own the direction of your domain
  • An international, multi-disciplinary environment spanning SOCs, engineering and Business Units worldwide
  • Competitive compensation package, hybrid working and international exposure
