Key Responsibilities The Utah Division of Licensing and Background Checks (DLBC) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investigator to join our team. In this role, you will investigate complaints regarding unlicensed programs and concerns of rule, statute and law violations in licensed programs. Preference: Applicants must have an RN, Dietitian, Social Worker, or Licensed Nursing Home Administrator license with Utah DOPL that is in good standing. **This position requires traveling and overnight stays throughout the State of Utah.** Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: Schedule and conduct investigations to ensure compliance with statute and rule. Reviews, investigates, documents, and addresses grievances and complaints, while implementing appropriate disciplinary actions as needed. Maintain contact with agencies/organizations for guidance on compliance issues and solutions. Issue, review, restrict, deny, suspend, or revoke licenses, permits, registrations, and certificates. Provides information to those seeking assistance and suggests solutions and assists others in solving problems Act as a liaison between the public and internal divisions to ensure smooth communication and efficient workflow. Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Professional Licensure: Must possess and maintain a current RN, Dietitian, Social Worker, or Licensed Nursing Home Administrator license in good standing with the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) Leveraging Technology : Ability to use digital tools, software, and systems to efficiently enter, retrieve, and manage data (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace). Attention to Detail: Ability to review and verify data and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with rules and statute for licensing. Thinking Critically: Ability to evaluate information and apply logical reasoning to make sound decisions. Communicating through Writing: Ability to draft clear and professional letters, reports, and correspondence to provide accurate information to stakeholders. Demonstrating Accountability: Ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks and decisions to ensure reliable and consistent performance. Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Interpreting Legal and Regulatory Requirements: Ability to understand and apply statutes, rules, and regulations to ensure decisions align with legal standards. Handling Sensitive Information: Ability to manage confidential data and records to protect applicant privacy and maintain organizational trust.
