WHY AIR INUIT’S HYDRO-QUÉBEC DIVISION Every day, in the skies over Québec, Air Inuit’s Hydro ‑ Québec division plays a vital role in supporting critical operations across the territory. ABOUT THE HQ DIVISION To meet the demands of northern and remote operations, Air Inuit’s Hydro ‑ Québec division currently operates a fleet of Dash 8 Q400 and Dash 8 ‑ 300 aircraft, which will be modernized with the introduction of ATR72 ‑ 600 aircraft scheduled for fall 2026. These aircraft ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of personnel to key sites across Saguenay, Abitibi, the North Shore, and James Bay. Behind every flight is a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, precise operations that meet the highest industry standards for Hydro ‑ Québec. More than just an air service, the HQ division is a critical pillar—bringing together expertise, performance, and collaboration to support projects that are shaping Québec today and into the future. ROLE OVERVIEW Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Helicopter Load Control and Flight Following Agent contributes to the success of Air Inuit’s Hydro-Québec division flight operations by coordinating aircraft loading, monitoring helicopter flight activities, providing logistical support, and performing various administrative tasks. Working in a dynamic environment where safety, teamwork, and operational efficiency are top priorities, this individual plays a key role in ensuring the safe and effective execution of operations. THE ROLE IN DEPTH AIRCRAFT LOADING (LOADMASTER) Work closely with flight crews, ground operations personnel, and maintenance teams to ensure the smooth execution of missions. Perform the safe loading and unloading of aircraft. Ensure compliance with weight and balance procedures. Verify the compliance, security, and proper restraint of cargo and equipment being transported. Collaborate with flight crews and maintenance technicians. Apply operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable safety and security standards. Contribute to maintaining efficient, safe, and compliant flight operations. HELICOPTER FLIGHT FOLLOWING Provide operational flight following support for Hydro-Québec flight operations. Receive, review, and update flight plans. Utilize flight-following systems and computerized operational tools. Monitor aircraft movements and flight progress in real time. Maintain communications with pilots via radio, telephone, or satellite phone. Ensure operational documentation and information are kept current. Coordinate responsibility handovers between flight-following sectors. Provide flight crews with the information required to carry out missions safely and efficiently. Participate in the implementation of emergency procedures during incidents or unusual situations. Prepare various operational, administrative, and statistical reports. Contribute to the daily coordination of divisional activities. ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT Perform various administrative tasks related to flight operations. Assist in the preparation, updating, and filing of documents and reports. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of operational information. Provide administrative support to the division’s various teams. Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative and operational processes. MATERIAL HANDLING AND LOGISTICS Receive, inspect, inventory, and store goods, equipment, and supplies. Safely handle materials required for operations. Prepare incoming and outgoing shipments. Load and unload vehicles and aircraft. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Comply with and promote applicable health, safety, and security standards. Identify and report any irregularities or situations that may affect the safety or efficiency of operations. Support the logistical activities required to carry out the Hydro-Québec division’s assignments. ROLE EVOLUTION In support of operational efficiency and continuity, the Employee may be required to assume other related responsibilities or assignments, based on their qualifications and the operational needs of the Company WHAT SETS YOU APART High School Diploma (DES) or equivalent. Training in aviation, logistics, transportation, flight dispatch, or a related field (asset). Experience in an operational, aviation, logistics, or industrial environment (asset). Experience in activity coordination or customer service (asset). Strong proficiency with computer applications and the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and use flight-following systems and operational software. Knowledge of the aviation industry and helicopter operations (asset). Knowledge of aircraft weight and balance principles (asset). Knowledge of regulations and safety procedures applicable to the aviation sector (asset). Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a dynamic environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in task execution. Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions in an operational setting. Self-motivated, resourceful, and accountable. Strong commitment to safety and quality of work. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Availability to work variable schedules based on operational requirements. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to handle and move equipment and materials as required. Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written. Eligibility to obtain and maintain the required authorizations and access permissions necessary to perform the duties of the position. COMPENSATION Salary and benefits are determined according to company policy. WORKING CONDITIONS The work schedule will be determined based on the operational needs of the Hydro-Québec Division. This may include weekend work and may be performed under a hybrid work arrangement, in accordance with Company policies and operational requirements. The position is based on a 40-hour work week; however, it operates under a modified work schedule. The role is carried out in a dynamic operational environment that combines administrative work, flight following, ramp activities, and logistical support. Occasional travel to Poste Montagnais or other operational sites may be required. The duties occasionally involve working outdoors, handling equipment and materials, and strictly adhering to health, safety, and security standards applicable to aviation operations.
