Job Description: The Support Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees and work processes within the support services teams. This position ensures an effective distribution of workflow while maintaining customer and employee satisfaction. The incumbent independently to identify problems, barriers, or adverse trends and implements process and goals to resolve. This position effectively manages staff to ensure high performance and extraordinary care. The Supervisor acts as a mentor to ensure continuous employee development. The hiring manager is considering candidates with demonstrated experience utilizing Epic and other electronic medical record (EMR) systems, familiar with payor plan requirements, and managing claims and appeals processes. Essential Functions Handling personnel functions including hiring, counseling, goal setting, performance, and evaluations and reviewing and approving payroll for the team. Working with employees to develop high levels of performance and customer satisfaction and provides one on one training and group education. Advising and interacting with all levels of staff effectively and confidently and clearly communicating complex issues and concepts verbally and in writing. Acting independently to identify problems, barriers, or adverse trends and implements processes or goals to resolve. Acting as a subject matter expert and resource to staff and management in specific tasks or processes. Resolving facility and patient concerns that staff are unable to bring to resolution quickly and appropriately. Assisting manager(s) in analyzing and interpreting information and reports to detect potential areas of concern. Coordinating, reviewing, and approving assigned adjustments, reports, and referrals. Participating in quality monitoring and improvement activities and programs and writing or updating processes and procedures while ensuring staff is compliant with regulations. Utilizing problem solving and critical thinking skills and abilities to proactively identify problems and develop timely action plans for resolution. Minimum Qualifications One year of experience with Medicare / Medicaid and other commercial insurances, preauthorization or utilization management Demonstrated experience and expertise working in a customer service role. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Self-motivation demonstrated through independent work. Demonstrated knowledge of insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree and three years of PAS experience, or four years of PAS experience with two of the years in a role requiring decision-making and problem solving. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role. HME Support Services: Bilingual Spanish speaking, Admitting, billing, collection and/or insurance verification experience, Versed in CPT/HCPCS/ICD-9/ICD-10 Codes, and / or Medical Terminology. Strong experience with medical appeals Strong knowledge with EPIC and EMR Strong knowledge payor plan requirements Physical Requirements Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information. Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. See and read computer monitors and documents. Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
