Title: HIM Operations Supervisor Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid – mostly remote with occasional on site needs) Type: Contract to Hire Rate: $40 /hr.on W2 Ideal Candidate • Solid HIM background with practical experience resolving identity issues • Comfortable supervising a small team and managing daily workflow • Strong communicator who can work across departments • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently in a hybrid environment Position Summary We are seeking a hands on HIM Operations Supervisor to support daily Health Information Management workflows, with a primary focus on patient identity and chart correction. This role oversees a small team of analysts and ensures accurate, timely resolution of identity related issues within the medical record. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong HIM professional with supervisory experience who is comfortable working in Epic and managing identity/merge/overlay cases. Key Responsibilities • Oversee daily HIM operations related to patient identity, chart correction, and data integrity. • Review and resolve merge, overlay, and demographic correction cases. • Provide day to day guidance to a small team of HIM analysts. • Monitor productivity, quality, and adherence to HIM standards. • Assist with scheduling, timecard review, and workflow coordination. • Collaborate with other departments to resolve HIM issues efficiently. • Support compliance with HIM policies, regulatory requirements, and customer service standards. • Participate in meetings and assist with additional HIM projects as needed. Required Skills & Experience • 3–5 years of HIM experience • 1–2 years of team lead or supervisory experience (lead, senior, or acting supervisor acceptable) • Experience with patient identity workflows (merges, overlays, chart corrections) • Epic proficiency (does not require certification) • Strong attention to detail and understanding of HIM data integrity • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Associate’s degree in Healthcare, IT, Business, or related field • RHIT or RHIA certification (or eligibility) Preferred Skills (Not Required) • Familiarity with Cures Act and HIPAA Privacy Rules • Experience with OnBase or similar document management systems • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field • Exposure to HIM quality, chart completion, or release of information workflows
