Hounslow Cricket Development Officer Job Title: Hounslow Cricket Development Officer Reports to: Senior Partnership Manager (Recreational Programmes) Location: Middlesex Indoor Cricket School (Office) and various locations in/around Hounslow Contract Term: 1 year fixed term, Full Time Salary: £27,500.00 Working Days: Monday-Friday, 5 days per week Background The Hounslow Community Cricket Partnership aims to make cricket accessible for girls and boys in the borough - inspiring fun participation, building confidence and helping young people to get active. Founding partners are Middlesex in the Community (MITC), Sky , Sport Impact and Hounslow Council . To give a brilliant first impression, there will be an innovative programme that will take the ECB’s All Stars programme into primary schools to introduce cricket to Year 1-3 girls and boys. Celebrating the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and it’s legacy, there will be a Year 4 cricket festival for girls at the QEII Sportsground in Brentford (MITC’s new home for women’s and girls’ cricket). To encourage regular play, the partnership will ensure there are clear pathways from schools to local clubs, with information and signposts on a new dedicated Hounslow community cricket website. A new Street Cricket hub for Hounslow will be set up with Chance to Shine , offering young people a more casual opportunity to develop their cricket and life skills, for free, whilst also taking part in informal matches. The Role The Hounslow Cricket Development Officer will play a key role in growing and developing cricket opportunities across the community. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a passion for community sport and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be committed to making cricket accessible to diverse communities and using the power of sport to create positive social impact. Key Responsibilities A brilliant first impression Delivery of All Stars Breakfast/Lunch/After-School Clubs at Primary Schools in Hounslow. Target is 10 to 15 clubs per year with a participant minimum target of 150, 50:50 gender split target. Deliver existing Hounslow Street Cricket Club and establish a new Street Cricket Club in the borough. Work to increase and maintain a minimum, average attendance of 10 participants, 50:50 gender split target. Organise an annual Girls’ Cricket Festival, aiming to engage a minimum of 10 primary schools. Coordination of a Hounslow Teacher Cricket CPD Plan, delivering a minimum of two events per academic year, with a minimum of 5 teachers in each. Including a Cricket for Teachers (Secondary Schools) and a Primary School event. Work & support Sport Impact projects as required. Encourage regular play Support with the coordination & delivery of Chance to Shine Primary School programmes in Hounslow, ensuring delivery compliments the All Stars After-School Clubs. Build & maintain relationships with key contacts (Junior Section Leads) at Hounslow cricket clubs to effectively be able to direct participants to further cricket opportunities. Provide content for the Hounslow Cricket Hub webpage, including stories, information for Schools & Clubs etc. Monitoring & evaluation of Hounslow Cricket delivery, contributing to the working group with performance updates and providing a minimum of 2 case studies per academic year. Skills, Knowledge and Experience Experience of coordinating or delivering community sport programmes for young people, ideally within diverse or underserved communities Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programmes, schedules and administrative tasks effectively Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including schools, community organisations and coaches Experience of programme administration, including accurate data collection, monitoring and reporting Understanding of safeguarding requirements when working with children and young people Ability to engage, motivate and support young people aged 8–16, creating inclusive and welcoming environments Relevant coaching qualification (or willingness to achieve), with confidence to deliver sessions when required A proactive, adaptable approach with a clear commitment to equality, diversity and increasing participation in sport Disclosure and Barring System Check (assistance available) First Aid Certificate (assistance available) Safeguarding Level 2 Certificate (assistance available) ECB Level 2 or equivalent Cricket Coaching qualification (assistance available)
