Salary Range: $53,000.00 To $62,300.00 Annually Title: HR Operations Coordinator Staff Group: Department of Human Resources Reports to: Director of Human Resources Location: Open* Job Category : Program Specialist I, full-time Hours/week: 35 * Location is open in the continental United States. You should have easy access to a major airport due to the travel requirements of this position. Purpose To serve as the operational backbone of the Human Resources team at the UUA, providing front-line support to national staff and keeping the systems, records, and payroll/benefits processes that the department relies on running smoothly. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role for someone who takes real pride in getting the operational fundamentals right, and who wants their work to directly support a mission-driven, justice-centered organization. This role includes a meaningful amount of payroll and benefits processing (data entry, document preparation, and audits), and it's one of the most consistent, recurring parts of the job, not an occasional task. Candidates who enjoy accurate, structured, process-driven work alongside more proactive HR support tend to thrive in this department. This is a new position and will require someone who is eager to build systems and has experience and success with change management. Who You'll Work With This role sits within a collaborative HR team, working closely with the Director of Human Resources, the HR and Benefits Specialist, the Learning and Recruitment Specialist, the Associate Director of HR Strategy and Risk Management, and the Equity, Belonging and Change Coordinator. Principal Responsibilities HR Operations & Staff Support Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related questions from UUA national staff (internal staff only) Manage the HR team's email ticketing system and mail intake Support the UUA's HRIS (ADP) through data entry, running reports, and records maintenance Coordinate with the Learning and Recruitment Specialist on onboarding and offboarding paperwork, orientation support, and posting open roles to the intranet Process employment verification requests for current and former employees Supports note taking in HR-related meetings Coordinate quarterly business cards and staff name badges Process all invoices and financial requests for the HR department Payroll & Benefits Administration Assist the HR and Benefits Specialist with benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations through data entry and processing supporting documents Audit invoices against payroll deductions monthly Process salary advances and staff loans as needed(infrequent, upon request only) Prepare payroll transmittals reflecting all HR-related changes(including but not limited to salary changes, promotions and organizational reporting structures); coordinate semi-monthly payroll with Finance Records & Systems Maintain, file, and track personnel documentation, including but not limited to performance reviews, employee documents, leaves and staff relations files Pull requested reports from ADP (data pulls only, not analysis) Maintain and update the HR Intranet and share HR news and resources with staff Performs other duties as requested by supervisor Qualifications This position is non-exempt and has a salary midpoint of $62,300. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographical location, with offers potentially ranging from 10-15% higher or lower than the midpoint. Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 3+ years of experience in administrative roles; HR and/or payroll experience required Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills Skilled in time management and has a great ability to commit to time sensitive deadlines Detail-oriented and comfortable with recurring, process-driven work; payroll and benefits tasks require precision and consistency Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information Skilled in strong communication(verbal and written) skills for different staff audiences Interest in one's own continuous learning and professional development Experience with complex task management Ability to create and hold strong boundaries Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional competence Proficiency with ATS and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP WorkforceNow ) and SharePoint Proficiencyi n Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Comfort working within a justice-centered environment that is actively engaged in equity, belonging, and organizational change work, and openness to adapting processes as that work evolves Understanding of issues around anti-racism, anti-oppression, and multiculturalism  Work or lived experience with BIPOC communities is of particular value Eagerness to work in an organization in which the dismantling of white supremacy is a high priority How to Apply People with disabilities, people of color, indigenous people, Hispanic/Latinx, and LGBTQ candidates are encouraged to apply.
