Position Summary MedInsight company division is hiring an HR & Ops Manager to serve as the local People Ops Manager for our India Office. This is a dual role spanning Human Resources and Operations. The HR & Ops Manager will be the on-the-ground, go-to resource for India employees and leaders in MedInsight India, owning core HR operations while serving as the administrative backbone and managing local administrative operations responsibilities that keep the team running in the India office. Reporting to the US-based Sr. HR Ops Manager, the position will serve as a key link between MedInsight and our Milliman Global Corporate Services (GCS) team, India HR Shared Services, and Finance Shared Services partners. This role requires a polished professional with the ability to apply their expertise to manage day-to-day operations and lead complex initiatives that span People Operations and align with company strategic goals. Initially structured as an individual contributor role, the position offers the opportunity to evolve into supervisory responsibility for junior People Operations staff in India. As the role evolves, it may include mentoring and developing team members while fostering an inclusive, high-performing work environment. Work Arrangement This role requires flexibility to work across India and United States time zones, including regular evening calls and meetings to support the manager and leadership team based in the US Pacific time zone. Regular on-site presence is an essential part of the role. The role is based in Gurgaon, with an expectation of working from the MedInsight Gurgaon office a minimum of two to three days per week. The role requires a high level of visibility and accessibility to employees and leaders, along with hands-on ownership of office coordination and related activities. Key Responsibilities Core HR Operations and Compliance Manage end-to-end HR operations and day-to-day employee relations locally, serving as the primary point of contact for HR-related queries and supporting employees with timely, accurate information. Maintain and update employee records in HRIS, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality, and develop processes that sustain high data accuracy across ZingHR, UKG, and MedInsight internal tracking tools. Oversee personnel file completeness and audit readiness, ensuring records are accurate, up to date, properly maintained, and readily accessible for audits and compliance reviews. Coordinate finance, administration, and leave management processes with GCS HR, India HR Shared Services, and Finance Shared Services teams to ensure seamless HR operations and compliance with company policies. Ensure compliance with local labor laws, Milliman and MedInsight policies, and HR legal, risk, and compliance programs in all India HR operations. Coordinate leave management and attendance processes with India HR Shared Services, and assist in developing and communicating HR policies, SOPs, and procedures for clarity and consistency. Local Partnership and Employee Relations Act as the local go-to resource for MedInsight India employees and leaders across all teams. Serve as the first point of contact for questions about policy, benefits, leave, payroll, and HR systems, guide employees to the right owner across GCS, India HR Shared Services, and Finance when a request sits outside MedInsight HR, and provide a confidential, accessible sounding board for employees raising concerns. Coach managers on policy, employee performance, and employee relations practices, and provide guidance to senior staff on complex HR and employee relations issues, routing complex employee relations, performance, or compliance matters to the Senior Manager, Human Resource Operations and GCS HR. Administration and Office Support Manage end-to-end logistics for large-scale events, all-team meetings, and visitor or leadership travel to the India office, ensuring smooth execution and a positive participant experience. Own local administrative coordination, such as vendor and facilities liaison, asset tracking, and travel and expense support in partnership with Finance. Serve as the point person for GCS, India HR Shared Services, and Finance for local administrative requests, routing them to the right owner. Talent, Onboarding, and Offboarding Partnership Partner with leadership and the MedInsight talent acquisition team to support hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes, including workforce planning inputs and tracker hygiene. Lead non-role-based MedInsight induction and orientation for India new hires, connecting them to the India HR handbook, benefits, career paths, and compliance requirements. Coordinate with India HR Shared Services and GCS on employment contracts, background checks, system provisioning, and full and final settlements so that joiners and leavers experience a clean, consistent process. Performance, Compensation, and Reporting Cycles Manage the India performance management cycle in UKG end-to-end, including goal entry, mid-year and year-end review launches, and completion tracking against published deadlines. Support the annual appraisal, bonus, and salary increment processes in coordination with the Senior Manager, Human Resource Operations, India HR Shared Services, Finance, and GCS. Develop competency in analyzing HR data for insights and performance improvement; prepare and analyze HR reports and dashboards that support data-driven decision-making by MedInsight HR and the COO. Engagement, Communications, and Learning Support the implementation of HR initiatives and employee engagement activities that promote an inclusive, high-performance culture, and act as a key contributor to onboarding, integration, and employee development. Plan and facilitate local all-team meetings, employee communications, and L&D initiatives in partnership with GCS and India leaders. Build and deliver presentations on HR topics for a range of audiences, from new hire orientation and staff-level training through data readouts and recommendations for India leaders and MedInsight senior leadership. Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, including appropriate use of AI and automation, leveraging feedback and best practices to enhance operational efficiency. Key Skills and Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field. 7-10 years of progressive HR experience across HR operations, compliance, employee relations and people processes, with a strong track record of execution, including 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or people leadership role. Demonstrated experience managing and coordinating local administrative operations, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, internal teams, and business stakeholders. Professional HR certification is strongly preferred: SHRM-CP, PHRi, or an equivalent credential. Demonstrated experience working with a range of HR technology platforms and systems, including HRIS, ATS, payroll, expense management, travel management, workforce management, and biometric/time and attendance systems. Experience with platforms such as UKG, Workday, Concur, and ZingHR would be an advantage. Strong experience in HR documentation, personnel records management, and audit readiness, ensuring accurate, complete, and compliant employee records. Working knowledge of Indian labor law and local statutory requirements, with proven capability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with experience presenting a range of topics to audiences at every level of an organization, from individual staff through senior leadership. Professional fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
