Wood is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support our Consulting business unit, managing a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK region. Based in our Glasgow office, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with employees expected to attend the office three days per week. The successful candidate will also be expected to travel to client sites, project locations, and other company offices as required. #LI-Hybrid The Role As an HSE Advisor, you will provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental performance, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, management systems and client requirements. Working closely with managers, clients and project teams, you will support the delivery of a positive safety culture, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and help identify, prevent and mitigate business risks. You will play a key role in monitoring HSE performance, leading incident investigations, analysing trends, developing improvement plans and KPIs, and promoting the sharing of lessons learned across projects. The role also involves conducting site visits, supporting audits and inspections, delivering inductions and training, coordinating emergency preparedness activities, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of HSE performance are maintained. Support the development, communication and monitoring of HSE objectives, initiatives and continuous improvement plans. Lead and support incident and accident investigations, including trend analysis, reporting and the implementation of corrective actions. Promote a positive safety culture through workforce engagement, lessons learned, training and awareness programmes. Develop and monitor HSE performance indicators (KPIs), producing reports and insights to support informed decision-making. Build effective relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to drive HSE excellence across projects and locations. Coordinate and participate in HSE meetings, workshops, audits and site visits, ensuring effective communication of safety performance and initiatives. Support office and site-based HSE activities, including inspections, inductions, risk management and contractor oversight. Ensure emergency response arrangements are maintained, tested and aligned with company and client requirements. Conduct regular visits to project sites, installations and company offices to monitor compliance and promote best practice. Skills And Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: Proven years of experience in a technical role, with relevant HSE experience Incident investigation qualification or demonstrated practical experience NEBOSH Certificate with a recognised qualification in HSE auditing Sound knowledge of applicable HSE legislation, standards, and industry requirements Desirable: Experience or qualification in Wind and Clean Energy NVQ Level 4 / IOSH qualification Previous HSE experience within the Wind, Clean Energy, or related industry Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and Client HSE requirements
