Apply Job Type Full-time Description Job Title: Human Resource Generalist Department: HR Services Reports to: Human Resource Supervisor Location: Remote Revised: 04/15/26 Job Summary Under the supervision of the HR Supervisor, the HR Generalist uses knowledge and skills obtained through experience and training to assist in developing, and implementing HR practices, procedures, and solutions for the clients being supported in the assigned region. Job Duties Works with the HR Team to support the execution of human resources plans and practices. These items may include, which may be onsite if needed: Perform I-9 compliance and file audits. Conduct exit interviews and stay interviews. Provide open enrollment support (possible onsite). Communication with employees to announce open enrollment. Facilitation of a meeting with the client, broker, HR team, and any other relevant internal PuzzleHR service teams. Compile EEO-1 reporting. Assist with employee onboarding support. Next level support after Employee Onboarding Associate Creation of SOP Assist in performing internal client investigations. Maintain employee records and information in client systems. HRIS familiarity to provide recommendations for HCM projects, working directly with HCM system support. Interact directly with clients in the areas of employee relations, compensation administration, benefits, talent acquisition, and organization talent development to support lead HR initiatives. Partner with internal service teams to ensure the delivery of services accurately and efficiently. Provide input and support for HRSP projects. Participate in developing and optimizing client systems and processes. Refine knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends. Identify areas for continuous improvement of HR services and processes. Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements as well as state and federal regulations that impact human resource functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Participate in all department staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills Company’s working structure, policies, mission, and strategies. Principles, practices, and procedures of human resources administration associated with employment; compensation and classification; and employee development. Broad knowledge of all functions that reside under the HR umbrella. Legal requirements and federal and state regulations related to employment. Facilitation and presentation methods and techniques. Statistical methods and concepts and other analytical tools used in human resource processes. Interviewing and candidate evaluation processes. Multiple HRIS and payroll software systems. Able to deliver clear and effective presentations. Analysis of a myriad of HR data and ability to draw conclusions based on the data. Interpret and apply state and federal statutes and applicable rules and regulations to moderately complex human resource issues and problems. Provide appropriate recommendations for resolution of simple/moderately complex employment and employee relations issues. Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Proficient in client relationship management tools, virtual meeting software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both verbal and written with all organizational levels. Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Keep all appropriate parties up to date on decisions, changes, and other relevant information. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, with at least two (2) years of progressively responsible human resources experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience, including a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible human resources experience. PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to move up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to participate in video conferences/meetings.
