Hennepin County District Court invites qualified applicants for a Human Resources & Development Coordinator in the Human Resources and Development Division (HRD). This position provides administrative coordination across the full complement of human resources services including compensation, benefits, recruitment and selection, onboarding, leaves of absence, employee relations, and human resources transactions. The individual in this role will work in support of judicial officers and administrative court staff. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and part of the Human Resources and Development Division located in the Hennepin County Government Center (300 S. 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN). Business hours for this position are 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Occasional travel within the Twin Cities or Greater Minnesota may be required. This is a hybrid role working both on-site and remotely, depending on business needs. A reliable internet connection will be required when working remotely. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Administer a range of HR transaction functions such as payroll, compensation, benefits, applicant management, performance management systems, leaves of absence, and employee wellness. Present at New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions to welcome and onboard new staff, providing key information about HR policies, benefits, and organizational culture. Coordinate employee separations, including retirements, and conduct exit interviews while ensuring timely communication with employees, supervisors, and relevant parties. Deliver presentations on HR policies, programs, and initiatives to help educate employees and support informed decision‑making across divisions. Serve as a professional, welcoming first point of contact for employees and visitors, providing prompt, inclusive support both onsite and remotely. Participate in recruitment efforts to attract a diverse applicant pool, including job fairs, on-campus, and remote recruiting programs. Contribute to Human Resources and Development efforts with stakeholders, including both local and statewide strategic efforts and goals. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education and Experience: Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute. Four (4) years of post-high school education and experience with at least one (1) year of experience in Human Resources, court, legal, or other fast paced, technology driven environment. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to develop effective, positive working relationships throughout the organization and with external stakeholders. Ability to handle a high-volume workload from multiple sources and maintain a professional demeanor. Ability to independently solve issues using variety of policy and procedures and other resources while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality to sensitive employment matters. Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to review complex information, identify discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in work product. Demonstrated skills using software and database systems and applying policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: Formal education or credentials in human resources, such as a bachelor's degree, master’s degree or PHR/SPHR certification. Demonstrated experience applying human resources best practices and employment law. Experience working with human resources information systems, applicant tracking systems, and learning management systems. SALARY: The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $29.42 to $37.55 per hour ($61,193 to $78,104 annually). The full salary range for this position is $29.42 to $45.67 per hour ($61,193 to $94,993 annually). This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of Minnesota employee benefits.
