Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted HR partner by educating leaders and employees, resolving workplace issues, and providing guidance on employee relations and best practices
- Build, implement, and continuously improve HR systems and policies that support the firm's continued growth while communicating the purpose behind new initiatives
- Lead employee onboarding and help create a positive, engaging experience from a team member's first day through ongoing development and retention
- Develop strong relationships with employees by understanding individual communication styles, providing meaningful feedback, and fostering a culture of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement
- Manage employee relations matters, including coaching conversations, performance improvement plans (PIPs), disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and terminations while ensuring compliance with employment laws
- Partner with leadership on recruiting, hiring, benefits administration, payroll coordination, leave management, compliance, and other core HR functions
- Deliver presentations and training on HR topics, policies, and workplace best practices to support employee development and organizational success
- Collaborate closely with an established team member to strengthen existing HR processes while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience in a professional services environment
- A Bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration or a related field of study
- A strong understanding of Colorado employment law and HR compliance
- Experience managing employee relations, including performance improvement plans (PIPs), disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and terminations
- Experience managing HR processes and employees in a remote work environment
- Knowledge of leave administration, including medical leave, family leave, and other protected leave programs
- Experience supporting recruitment and hiring processes
- Understanding of employee benefits administration and payroll processes
- Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to educate employees and leadership on HR topics
Bonus Experience:
- A Master's degree in Human Resources
- Completion of HR certification/s (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent)
- An active SHRM member
- In-house Human Resources experience at a law firm
- Experience using QuickBooks and /or Gusto
