Provide technical expertise and capacity-building support to UNICEF’s inclusive social protection portfolio, with a focus on capacity-building and training on gender-responsive social protection in Asia and Africa. The assignment will support delivery of activities on gender-responsive social protection, including on thematic areas of inclusive social protection systems strengthening and the intersection with care and support, climate resilience and child marriage prevention. This consultancy requires a profile combining deep technical expertise on social protection systems and gender equality, and functional expertise in analysis, training and capacity-building, technical assistance, and technical resource development. Minimum requirements: Education: An advanced university degree in social sciences, international development, or a closely related field, required. Work Experience: Minimum 10+ years of professional experience. Experience working in Asia and Africa. Skills: Demonstrated expertise on: Social protection systems Gender-responsive programming Care and support systems Child marriage prevention Climate resilience Demonstrated experience in: Technical advising on inclusive social protection systems strengthening Capacity building and training facilitation with government and partners Analysis and resource development Familiarity with UNICEF's work on social protection, care, and gender, or equivalent experience within the UN system or comparable international organization, is desirable Availability during working hours providing at least four hours overlap with Bangkok time. Competencies Deep analytical ability including capacity to translate complex concepts into digestible recommendations and guidance Ability to engage substantively and credibly with a range of stakeholders, including UN agencies, government counterparts, and civil society Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timelines Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
