The position will be based in one of our Washington offices, with flexibility for a hybrid/remote schedule based on team integration, project needs, and experience level. Your Role on the Team: Interpret regulatory requirements and develop the policies, plans, and procedures needed to support compliance. Track, review, and assess federal, state, and local legislation and regulations related to stormwater and discharges to surface water and groundwater. Prepare compliance documents, technical reports, and other written materials related to NPDES and state-specific discharge permits. Prepare permit applications, renewal applications, modifications, and regulatory agency reports. Develop water balances, process flow diagrams, and process equipment recommendations. Support the planning, design, rehabilitation, and improvement of municipal and industrial wastewater systems. Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, and other technical professionals. Mentor developing engineers and technical staff in wastewater permitting and regulatory compliance. Manage assigned work within established budgets, schedules, and resource plans while maintaining high-quality technical outcomes. What You Bring to the Team: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, civil, environmental, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline; a master’s degree is preferred. Five or more years of experience supporting the design and permitting of wastewater projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or Oregon, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire. The ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into clear, practical guidance for clients and project teams. Experience with routine wastewater pumping and monitoring. Familiarity with industrial wastewater facilities, operations, design standards, and construction practices. Experience preparing clear, well-organized permit applications, regulatory reports, and technical documents. Familiarity with relevant engineering software and technical tools. Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills. The ability to balance multiple assignments and work effectively within project budgets and schedules. Why Join Parametrix?
