Our company is a place that prioritizes being a force for good, a place to expand learning, explore new perspectives and reimagine new possibilities, every day. We look for people who want to bring their best — bold thinkers with big hearts who challenge one another and grow together. Because becoming the undisputed leader in food means surrounding ourselves with people who are hungry for what’s next. OVERVIEW As the Ingredient Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you will develop, implement, and execute global and regional ingredient compliance programs focused on chemical residues, contaminants, and allergens, partnering with global supply chain teams and external quality management partners to ensure sufficient supplier verification data is obtained globally. As part of the Food Safety and Quality community, you will help shape the company’s approach to ingredient management and build expertise in global food regulatory systems and cross-functional problem solving. The role focuses on regional compliance programs for ingredient acceptability and emerging issues (70%) and resolving gaps between supplier programs and General Mills requirements within the Global Chemical Residue and Contaminant Supplier & Ingredient Program (30%). KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Serve as the primary coordinator for the Chemical Residue, Contaminant, and Allergen Emerging Issues Global Community of Practice, driving communication and alignment across regional teams. • Conduct technical research to support development of General Mills ingredient specifications related to chemical hazards and regulatory compliance. • Advance the Chemical Residue and Contaminant Export Feasibility process, providing technical input for finished-product export decisions to new markets based on ingredient specification adequacy. • Drive the accuracy of allergen cross-contact information for supplied ingredients in partnership with suppliers and General Mills Labeling and Regulatory Compliance. • Partner with regional emerging issues teams and subject matter experts to assess business impact and support horizon-scanning activities. • Support implementation and issue resolution for the Global Chemical Residue and Contaminant Supplier & Ingredient Program. • Develop and deliver training with guidance from the Chemical Hazards Manager and Corporate Toxicologist, and coordinate data, reporting, and metrics for applicable compliance programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Science, Toxicology, Food Science, or a related field. Experience: 5+ years in food regulation and working with or for suppliers of food ingredients. Technical Skills: Demonstrated understanding of food chemical safety and quality. Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaborative skills, and excellent attention to detail. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Master’s degree in Analytical Science, Toxicology, Food Science, or a related field. • Experience in food ingredient regulation globally. • Experience working with food regulatory systems and maintaining compliance data systems. • Practitioner-level understanding of food safety and regulatory risk assessments. ELIGIBILITY Applicants must meet minimum age qualifications in the country in which the job is located.
