Job Title: Instructional Design Specialist Department: Medicine | Education Vice Dean This is a hybrid role with an expectation to work onsite 2 to 3 days per week, depending on operational needs and business requirements. The Instructional Design Specialist for Canvas for Continuing Education (CCE) in the College of Medicine (COM) applies professional experience and foundational instructional design knowledge to support the development and delivery of continuing education programs in collaboration and consultation with subject matter experts (SME’s). The position works under general guidance to support implementation of established instructional design processes, workflows, and program operations that increase learner engagement and improve learning outcomes for public-facing, professional learning content. The core functions of the Instructional Designer include: (1) collaborating with SME’s to develop and manage eLearning modules, guided learnings, multimedia, and digital and print materials to support learning, scholarship, and professional development opportunities; (2) managing assigned projects and supporting communication across stakeholders; (3) supporting portfolio operations, including reporting and course catalog management; (4) providing tier 1 technical support and training to end users; and (5) contributing feedback to support ongoing improvement of workflows and processes. Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; two years' relevant experience required. Additional Qualifications: Relevant experience in eLearning design, learning development, or teaching; ability to translate traditional SME-led learning material to formats using electronic educational technologies preferred; experience with eLearning software (e.g., Canvas, H5P, Adobe suite, Vyond) preferred; experience in an academic medical center preferred.
