About the role

We're looking for experienced Integration Developers to join our team.

The goal of the project is to automate the production of advertising newspapers.

The system collects advertisements and inserts, calculates the optimal page layout, generates and places editorial content using AI, and ultimately produces a print-ready PDF.

Requirements / Tech Stack:

• Experience in publishing, press, printing, media, or a similar industry is highly desirable.
• Python for backend, solver and pipelines
• OR-Tools CP-SAT for constraint solving
• React with Vite and TypeScript for the frontend
• PostgreSQL
• AWS, running in the client's own subscription, on EKS
• LangGraph for agent orchestration, LiteLLM as gateway, Langfuse for tracing
• Redis, Grafana
• Strong English skills, ideally C1

Surrounding systems to be connected, all on the client side:

• Advertising system — delivers order data as XML plus print PDFs via a file transfer into an S3 bucket; also holds the insert allocation plan per distribution district.
• Archive system — for reused editorial content and full-page supplied PDFs such as the puzzle page.
• Client AI pipeline — for short local texts, delivers the editorial content.
• Cinema & event data sources — provide additional local content.
• Printing house — as the output target.
• Client IT service provider — is involved in providing several of these data feeds.

Output: The system must automatically produce 300 DPI PDF/X-3 files that are ready for printing, with no manual rework. This is a hard requirement.
