Interim Finance Manager (part-time)

Ivy Rock Partners are delighted to be supporting a values-led national charity in the search for an experienced Interim Finance Manager to provide hands-on support to the Finance Director during a busy period.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working across both day-to-day finance operations and month-end reporting. The organisation offers remote working alongside the chance to make a meaningful impact within the charity sector.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the finance function while supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing day-to-day financial transactions, including invoices, payments and receipts.
• Performing regular bank reconciliations and overseeing purchase ledger activities.
• Managing aged creditors, weekly payment runs and supporting debtor management.
• Coordinating monthly payroll with external accountants.
• Preparing month-end information for the production of management accounts.
• Supporting budgeting, reforecasting and cashflow forecasting.
• Assisting with year-end processes and statutory reporting.
• Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with charity accounting requirements.
• Managing the finance inbox and supporting colleagues across the organisation on finance queries.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT) or is qualified by experience.
• Previous experience working within a charity finance environment.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to manage operational finance independently.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of financial controls and financial reporting.
• Experience using Xero and strong Excel skills would be advantageous.
