Role: Crisis Group is offering an excellent learning opportunity in video and multimedia production. In this role you will learn to produce short videos for social media, learn how to match that with conflict prevention strategies and see how a policy organisation develops its communications strategies in relation to all kinds of audio-visual media. In this internship you will also be observing, contributing to and providing feedback on our processes as a member of the communications team. This is a volunteer internship position for 6 months starting in September 2026. Responsibilities: Help develop multimedia and video content for Crisis Group’s website and social media; Assist with editing videos using primarily Adobe Premiere Pro and other tools such as Adobe After Effects and Adobe Audition; Assist during interview recordings with Crisis Group’s analysts; Assist with the researching, writing and editing of scripts, storyboards and story synopses; Update video content on Crisis Group’s website and social media; Support in the selection of images for Crisis Group’s publications; Assist with editing photography for key publications and social media posts using Lightroom and Photoshop; Engage professionally with social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter; Monitor developments in online media; Monitor the success of our multimedia outputs and campaigns using YouTube analytics and other tools; and Provide general support to the communications team. The ideal candidate will be interested in consolidating their knowledge of a wide range of countries in conflict while professionalising their video production skills and learning how a policy organisation develops and implements its communications strategies. Candidates will need good English, good video and photo editing skills (knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative Suite tools is a must) and to enjoy working in a fast-paced, multinational team. The ideal intern should already be familiar with video and photography editing in a professional setting, have interest in conflict prevention and ability to work well in a diverse team. Our Communications team is based in Brussels, Belgium. Internships are available exclusively to students participating in academic or sponsored programs, e.g. students who can integrate the internship into their academic curriculum for credit or those who have secured external funding, such as a grant or scholarship, to support them during the internship.
