Internal Corporate Affairs Specialist

Are you a skilled internal communications professional who can turn complex organisational priorities into clear, engaging and inclusive messages? SSI is seeking an Internal Corporate Affairs Specialist to help strengthen the way we listen, communicate and connect with our people across a diverse, purpose-driven organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, this role will drive day-to-day internal communications and employee engagement activity across SSI. You will work closely with the Office of the CEO, executive leaders, People and Culture, and teams across the organisation to deliver communications that keep staff informed, supported and connected to SSI’s purpose, strategy, culture and values.

In this role, you will design and deliver internal communication plans, play an important role in internal engagement forums and organisational change, and support leaders with the tools, advice and messaging they need to communicate effectively. You will have a strong focus on communications measurement, using staff feedback mechanisms, data and insights to continuously improve how SSI communicates with its people.

About the role

You will:

• Develop and deliver clear, inclusive and engaging internal communications across business-as-usual activity and change initiatives.
• Manage internal communication channels, such as newsletters, intranet content, briefing materials and FAQs.
• Partner with leaders and teams to strengthen internal communication capability and support best-practice use of channels.
• Lead key online employee engagement forums and events that support culture, connection and organisational listening.
• Monitor and report on communication effectiveness using surveys, feedback tools and digital insights.
• Contribute to broader corporate affairs priorities, including advocacy campaigns, media activity and events during high-volume periods.

About you

You are a confident communicator with strong judgement, excellent writing skills and the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and channels. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, clarity and professionalism.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related discipline.
• Experience in internal communications, corporate communications or a similar role, ideally within a complex, not-for-profit or purpose-led organisation.
• Strong experience designing, delivering and evaluating internal communication and engagement campaigns.
• An understanding of change management principles and how to apply them in communications planning.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with executives, leaders and staff at all levels.
• Strong digital and data literacy, including the ability to use insights and analytics to improve communication outcomes.
• Flexibility to pivot into some external communications activities to support the broader Corporate Affairs team.
