Location: Hong Kong SAR – Remote

Contract type: Independent contractor / Part-time

Initial collaboration: 3 months, with potential for long-term cooperation

Compensation: Fixed monthly professional fee plus performance-based incentives

ABOUT BURBUR PET CARE

Burbur Pet Care is a Spanish manufacturer of high-quality professional pet cosmetics, currently present in more than 40 countries.

As part of our international expansion, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to develop our presence in Mainland China and selected Asia-Pacific markets.

This is a paid, remote, independent contractor position. The role is listed in Hong Kong and may be performed from Hong Kong or another suitable APAC location, provided the selected professional can effectively manage the assigned markets and travel when required.

THE ROLE

The primary objective is to identify, approach and develop long-term partnerships with qualified pet industry importers and distributors.

Priority markets include:

• Mainland China

• Singapore

• Thailand

• Malaysia

• Indonesia

• Vietnam

• Philippines

This is one regional business development role covering the markets listed above, with Mainland China as the main initial priority.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research and identify qualified importers, distributors and commercial partners

• Approach potential partners and present the Burbur Pet Care brand and product portfolio

• Arrange and conduct online and in-person business meetings

• Develop commercial opportunities and support negotiations

• Maintain an organised pipeline of prospective partners

• Provide regular reports on contacts, meetings, opportunities and market feedback

• Support Burbur Pet Care during relevant trade fairs, industry events and business visits

• Collaborate directly with the company’s international management team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrable experience in business development, international sales, distribution or market expansion

• Good understanding of the professional pet care, pet cosmetics, veterinary, grooming or related pet industry

• Ability to communicate and negotiate with importers, distributors and retail groups

• Full professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, both written and spoken

• Professional working proficiency in English

• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills

• Ability to work independently, organise commercial activity and report progress

• Availability to travel within Mainland China and the APAC region when required

• Ability to provide professional services legally from the applicant’s current location

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Existing professional relationships within the Asian pet industry

• Previous experience developing international brands in Mainland China

• Experience working with professional grooming products, pet cosmetics or premium pet care products

• Knowledge of additional APAC markets or languages
