Role Description The Internet of Things (IoT) Specialist will design, develop, and integrate IoT solutions across a variety of industry use cases, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable connected systems. Day-to-day activities include architecting IoT device connectivity, implementing M2M communication protocols, integrating IoT platforms with backend services, and collaborating with software development teams to deliver production-ready solutions. The role involves analyzing data streams from IoT devices, troubleshooting system performance, and documenting technical specifications and implementation details. The specialist will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements, communicate technical options, and support deployments and enhancements in a global environment. This is a full-time remote role. Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) architectures, platforms, and protocols, with practical experience in designing and deploying IoT solutions.
Hands-on experience with M2M communication, device connectivity, and integration of sensors, gateways, and cloud services.
Proficient software development skills (e.g., Python, C/C++, JavaScript, or similar), including API integration and basic cloud services use.
Demonstrated analytical skills for interpreting IoT data, diagnosing technical issues, and optimizing system performance.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, documenting solutions, and presenting findings.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with IoT security best practices, edge computing, and cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team environment, manage priorities, and deliver to agreed timelines.
