Role Overview: As an Investment Research Manager, you'll research and analyse investment funds, engage directly with fund management groups, and support advisory clients with investment-related guidance. The role combines fund research, client relationship management, investment committee participation, and thought leadership, helping ensure RSMR's research and ratings remain robust, relevant, and market-leading. You'll hold a broad "generalist" caseload of around 50 funds covering a mix of fund types, and you'll represent RSMR at its three annual conferences plus events hosted by investment management companies. This role will be reporting into Stuart Ryan, Head of Research. What you'll do Conduct fund manager meetings, presentations, and due diligence activity, producing high-quality research notes and analysis. Contribute to fund rating reviews, investment research methodology, and investment committee discussions. Support the development and enhancement of RSMR's ratings service, ensuring it remains responsive to market and regulatory developments. Manage relationships with key advisory firm clients, providing investment guidance and support on Centralised Investment Propositions (CIPs). Produce and contribute to quarterly investment reports, portfolio reviews, and fund list assessments for adviser clients. Support business development activities by providing specialist investment expertise during new client discussions and pitches. Represent RSMR at its annual conferences and at events run by investment management companies. What you'll need to succeed: Essential requirements: A minimum of a Level 4 Diploma in financial services. Relevant experience conducting your own fund or investment research - for example as an investment research manager elsewhere, an IFA researching funds for your own client recommendations, a wealth manager with private clients doing your own research, or a stockbroker doing the same. Strong analytical skills, paired with the communication skills to hold your own in face-to-face meetings with fund managers. Comfortable working as a generalist across a broad mix of fund types, rather than specialising in a single asset class. Your approach to work: A genuine interest in the detail of fund research, balanced with confidence presenting findings and guidance to advisory clients. Comfortable working remotely/field-based, with regular UK travel to meet fund managers (from Edinburgh down to London) and periodic visits to the Silsden office. A collaborative mindset, contributing specialist knowledge across research, client relationships, and business development. Important to know: Location: Remote/field-based, with regular travel throughout the UK to meet fund managers (Edinburgh to London), and periodic visits to RSMR's office in Silsden, near Leeds, where practical. Right to Work: Applicants must already hold a legal right to work in the UK without time restrictions and without the need for future sponsorship. We are unable to provide Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
