About the role As an Investment Support within our Private Wealth team, you will provide valuable support to Investment Managers in the management and administration of bespoke portfolios for high-net-worth clients. You will assist with investment research, portfolio monitoring, client reporting and the implementation of investment strategies, helping to deliver a high-quality service and positive client outcomes. This role offers excellent exposure to the investment management process and an opportunity to develop your knowledge within a collaborative and client-focused environment. ~ Key responsibilities include: Support the day-to-day management and administration of bespoke investment portfolios for high-net-worth clients. Coordinate the preparation and follow-up of client meetings, including the production of meeting packs, portfolio information and supporting documentation. Support the onboarding of new clients by coordinating investment-related information, documentation and internal processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Prepare, maintain and enhance investment management reporting and related information to support effective portfolio oversight and decision-making. Contribute to stock, fund and bond research, producing clear research notes and analysis for Investment Managers and the Investment Committee. Prepare investment due diligence for review by the Investment Committee, ensuring recommendations, supporting evidence and risks are clearly documented. Implement investment strategies under the direction of an Investment Manager, ensuring transactions and instructions are completed accurately and in line with internal procedures. Maintain client portfolios, model templates and investment tools, ensuring updates are accurately reflected and recorded. Prepare investment proposals, target sets and other client-facing and internal documentation as required . Develop a broad understanding of client administration processes and provide support across the team where needed. Assist with portfolio monitoring, performance analysis and holding reviews, highlighting areas requiring further investigation or action. Participate in Investment Committee activities as appropriate , contributing research, analysis and meeting support. Our ideal person Essential criteria Degree-level education or equivalent, ideally in finance, economics, investment, business, mathematics or a related analytical discipline. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and draw clear conclusions. Good understanding of core investment principles, asset classes, portfolio construction and risk/return considerations, appropriate for a financial graduate. A genuine interest in macroeconomics, financial markets and current economic developments, with curiosity about how these factors influence investment decisions. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate , high-quality work in a regulated environment. Proactive, organised and willing to learn, with the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of tasks. Collaborative team player with a professional approach, strong integrity and a commitment to positive client outcomes. Desirable criteria Financial services or investment-related qualification at Level 4 or equivalent, such as an appropriate investment , wealth management or financial planning qualification. Some relevant industry experience within financial services, investment management, wealth management, asset management or a related professional environment. Experience supporting investment research, portfolio monitoring, client reporting or investment administration activities. Working knowledge of investment platforms, portfolio management systems, market data tools or Microsoft Excel for analysis and reporting. Learning /Development opportunities Work as part of a wider investment team responsible for managing £4bn of assets across funds, MPS and bespoke portfolios. Develop practical investment management knowledge by working closely with Investment Managers on bespoke portfolios for high-net-worth clients. Actively participate in stock and fund meetings, contributing research, analysis and market observations to support investment decision-making. Gain exposure to portfolio monitoring, performance analysis, asset allocation, risk considerations and the implementation of investment strategies. Work towards relevant professional qualifications, including Level 4 financial services, investment management or wealth management qualifications where appropriate . Develop confidence in preparing client-facing materials, investment proposals, meeting packs and internal reporting to a high professional standard.
