What You Can Expect The IT Director, Enterprise Architecture provides global leadership for Zimmer Biomet’s enterprise architecture capability. This role partners with global business and IT leaders to define, communicate and operationalize enterprise architecture vision, strategy, standards and roadmaps that enable business transformation, technology simplification, AI readiness, security, scalability and sustainable growth across the organization. The Director will advance architecture governance processes currently in flight, including the Enterprise Architecture Resource Board and the new global Enterprise Architecture Council. This leader will organize, mature and facilitate these forums to improve decision quality, strengthen global alignment, increase transparency into technology choices, and ensure architecture decisions support enterprise priorities. The role requires a strong enterprise architecture background, credible thought leadership, and the ability to drive change across a complex, global and matrixed organization. The Director may lead employees, contractors and/or outsourced resources and will influence senior stakeholders, architects, solution owners and delivery teams to establish practical standards, reduce redundancy, manage risk and enable durable enterprise capabilities. How You'll Create Impact Lead and mature the global Enterprise Architecture function, including architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, operating model, governance practices and enterprise technology roadmaps. Organize, facilitate and continuously improve the Enterprise Architecture Resource Board and the global Enterprise Architecture Council to drive consistent, transparent and business-aligned architecture decisions. Partner with global business, IT, cybersecurity, data, infrastructure, applications and manufacturing technology leaders to align technology direction with business priorities, transformation programs and long-range strategic plans. Provide enterprise architecture thought leadership by evaluating emerging technologies, industry practices and modernization opportunities that can create measurable business value for Zimmer Biomet. Drive change across the organization by influencing stakeholders, strengthening architecture discipline, guiding solution teams and promoting adoption of common standards, reusable patterns and globally scalable solutions. Identify and communicate architectural risk, technical debt, capability gaps and opportunities for simplification, including application rationalization, platform consolidation and technology lifecycle planning. Mentor architects and technical leaders; build architecture capability, decision-making maturity and a high-performing global architecture community. Support portfolio planning, investment prioritization and major technology initiatives by providing clear architectural recommendations, options, trade-offs and measurable success criteria. What Makes You Stand Out Demonstrated senior-level enterprise architecture leadership skills in a complex, global and matrixed IT organization. Strong enterprise architecture background with practical experience applying architecture frameworks, governance models, standards and roadmap development. Proven ability to establish and lead architecture review boards, councils or equivalent governance forums that improve technology decision quality. Ability to translate business strategy into architecture direction, capability roadmaps and practical execution guidance for global teams. Demonstrated thought leadership in technology modernization, cloud, data, security, integration, application rationalization, AI enablement and digital transformation. Advanced communication, facilitation, interpersonal and presentation skills with the proven ability to influence effectively globally and across functional lines. Experience successfully building, managing, motivating and mentoring architects, technical leaders, employees, contractors and/or outsourced resources. Demonstrated use of metrics, architectural principles, decision records and governance outcomes to measure adoption, value, risk reduction and continuous improvement. Keen understanding of budgets, portfolio trade-offs, business value measurement and Zimmer Biomet’s global business and competitive environment. Your Background Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field required. Master’s degree in business, technology or related field preferred; enterprise architecture certification such as TOGAF preferred. 10+ years of related professional experience required, including significant experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, solution architecture, governance and global transformation leadership. Travel Expectations Up to 20% Expected Compensation - $185,000-$230,000 base salary. Comprehensive bonus and LTI also provided. EOE
