This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of IT infrastructure professionals responsible for delivering reliable, secure and high-performing IT services across the business. As IT Operations Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day management of our IT infrastructure environment, including servers, networks, storage and telecommunications systems. You will provide technical leadership, support strategic infrastructure projects, drive continuous improvement and ensure the effective delivery of services that enable business success. Working closely with regional and global stakeholders, you will balance hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities, helping to develop team performance while ensuring operational excellence across the IT estate. Key responsibilities include: Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing IT infrastructure team Managing workload allocation, priorities and team performance to ensure service excellence Providing technical guidance, mentoring and support to team members Overseeing the daily operation of infrastructure services, including servers, networks, storage and telecommunications Ensuring the availability, security and performance of IT systems and services Developing and implementing infrastructure standards, processes and best practices Monitoring systems proactively and driving preventative measures to minimise service disruption Leading and delivering infrastructure projects from planning through to implementation Managing project budgets, resources, timelines and stakeholder expectations Coordinating incident response activities and providing leadership during critical outages Conducting root cause analysis and implementing measures to prevent recurring incidents Supporting capacity planning activities to ensure infrastructure can meet future business demands Managing relationships with infrastructure vendors and service providers, including contract and SLA performance Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, efficiency and resilience This role offers a fantastic opportunity to combine technical leadership with people management in a dynamic international environment, helping shape the future of our infrastructure services whilst developing and growing a talented team. About You You are an experienced IT infrastructure professional with a strong background in operational leadership and a passion for building high-performing teams. We're looking for: Proven experience leading IT infrastructure or operations teams Strong technical knowledge of server, network, storage and virtualisation technologies Experience working within IT Service Management frameworks, such as ITIL Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure projects and managing stakeholders Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop others A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience Desirable experience includes: Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS Industry certifications including Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or equivalent Advanced network experience and / or Cisco certification is a plus Additional Information Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 (local time) Regular travel within the region is required (approximately 25-30%) A valid driving licence is required About Us We are DS Smith, together with International Paper, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and other fibre-based products.
