GENERAL OVERVIEW The Systems Engineer will work directly with business stakeholders to create data-based solutions and build integrations between various business platforms, build automations within our systems to streamline workflows and processes, and help with building and visualizing data in reporting systems. The Systems Engineer will help maintain the health, stability, and uptime of internal IT infrastructure. They will also help propose solutions for internal IT company standards, policies, and procedures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Core duties and responsibilities include the following: Embodies Metrc’s Leadership Principles Integrations & Data Flow Design, build, and maintain integrations between Salesforce, NetSuite, and other systems using APIs and integration platforms (e.g., Tray.io or similar) Define and manage data flows, transformations, visualizations, and synchronization across systems Implement error handling, monitoring, and retry logic to ensure reliability Troubleshoot integration issues and identify root causes Building automations to streamline processes and workflows in the business Assist in the implementation and management of applications used internally Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks Work with third party vendors or support as required Stakeholder Interaction & Requirements Meet with business stakeholders to understand and clarify system needs Translate business requests into actionable technical solutions Identify when requests do not address root problems and propose better alternatives Communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical users Requirements QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES 3+ years of experience in systems, integrations, or business applications roles Strong experience working with APIs (REST, webhooks, JSON) Experience with integration platforms or ETL tools such as Tray.io, Workato, MuleSoft, etc. Advanced knowledge of SQL or related query languages Experience with scripting and/or programming languages (PowerShell, Python, JS, et cetera) Advanced troubleshooting and administration of Windows-based applications, Operating Systems (Desktop and Server), and Server Roles (AD DS, DHCP, DNS, DFS, Print Server, File Server, RDS, IIS, etc.) Understanding of data models and cross-system data relationships Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple systems Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred / Nice to Have: Experience with AI tools and infrastructure Experience with Azure/AWS Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID Experience with NetSuite or ERP systems Experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, Domo, or Sigma.
