Division: Group Technology Services (GTS) As a Senior Windows Automation Engineer, you will: Design, implement, and maintain solutions for automated Windows server provisioning and the deployment of Microsoft patches and third-party software, following a gradual deployment strategy. Apply strong knowledge of testing methodologies and software design patterns to ensure quality and maintainability. Use SME knowledge and hands-on experience of Windows Server operating systems to design, implement, and maintain solutions to ensure the stability and performance of the Windows infrastructure. Collaborate with stakeholders to validate and refine high-level design documents. Demonstrate strong ownership, autonomy, and accountability in all assigned tasks. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across Windows operating systems (from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2025). Participate in on-call support outside business hours for Production systems (Watch Duty rotation) Weekend work as part of a scheduled rotation We are looking for a candidate who brings: Deep expertise in Microsoft ecosystems. Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear and structured technical and design documents. Strong expertise in Windows Server Operating Systems : In depth troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis Knowledge of Windows Internals Ability to analyse low-level operating system components such as process/thread architecture and I/O subsystems to diagnose complex performance issues and application failures. Experience in leveraging tools like Sysinternals Suite, and Event Tracing for Windows (ETW) to identify underlying causes and implement effective resolutions. Ability to collect traces and adopt evidence based approach to technical investigations Proficiency in core technologies, including: Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) Windows Server Security Hardening Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) VMware (Nutanix is a plus) Networking Tracing Advanced scripting and automation skills in: PowerShell PowerCLI / Python / Git CI/CD pipelines Desirable automation/development skills : Ansible Remote development on Linux Azure DevOps / IaC Terraform A background in software engineering or development, especially in: API integration and development Automation frameworks Code quality and testing practices A passion for solving technical challenges while keeping customer needs in focus. A methodical, organized, and proactive approach to work. A growth mindset with a willingness to embrace and share new technologies. Strong team spirit with the ability to work independently when needed. Flexibility and openness to change in a dynamic environment. Experience working in Agile methodologies.
