Role Description This full-time remote Japan Payroll (BPO) role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for Japan-based employees on behalf of client organizations. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and validating payroll data, calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll runs in compliance with Japanese labor and tax regulations. The role involves managing payroll taxes, social insurance contributions, and garnishments, preparing payroll reports and reconciliations, and responding to payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees. The individual will collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, maintain secure and up-to-date payroll records, and continuously improve payroll processes and controls.
Qualifications

• Strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing, with experience handling Japan payroll cycles.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Payroll Taxes and Payroll Services, including social insurance and statutory filings.
• Ability to manage Garnishments and other statutory or court-ordered deductions accurately and confidentially.
• Solid understanding of Japanese labor laws, tax regulations, and HR-related compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in payroll systems or HRIS platforms, with strong Excel or spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; Japanese language skills are highly beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.
• Relevant experience in BPO, shared services, or multi-country payroll operations is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, HR, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
