Role Description This is a full-time remote role for Japanese Speakers specializing in the Kansai dialect. In this position, talent will support projects involving transcription, localization, and quality review of audio and text content in Japanese with a focus on Kansai regional language nuances. Day-to-day tasks may include listening to recordings and transcribing them accurately, checking and refining localized content for cultural and linguistic appropriateness, and annotating or labeling data for AI training purposes. Team members will collaborate with project managers and other language professionals, follow detailed guidelines, and meet defined quality and productivity targets. The role may also involve providing feedback on language tools and workflows to help improve the platform’s services.
Qualifications

• Native-level or highly proficient Japanese language skills, with strong command of Kansai dialect and ability to distinguish regional expressions and intonation.
• Proficiency in reading and writing standard Japanese (kanji, hiragana, katakana) and clear understanding of formal vs. informal register.
• Experience or strong interest in localization, transcription, or language-related work such as subtitling, content adaptation, or linguistic QA.
• Solid listening skills and attention to detail for working with audio files and ensuring accurate transcription and annotation.
• Comfort with digital tools, cloud-based platforms, and basic productivity software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote working environment to support consistent performance.
• Strong time management skills, ability to follow instructions, and commitment to meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Prior experience in freelance marketplaces, AI data tasks, or multilingual projects is beneficial but not required.
• A background in linguistics, translation, Japanese studies, or a related field is an advantage.
